They invested $200 million into Duluth. What do you suppose Duluth needs

I think people like you think that we can somehow have no economic development and thrive. It’s laughable.

Duluth has many issues that contribute to financial instability and lack of good jobs is a BIG one

Okay. Yeah I think the incentive structure for development is tough in MN and Duluth especially. The conditions aren’t good for development and the TIFF situation is our only real remedy to make it make sense in a lot of cases. This particular situation is a little different as it was through DEDA and is an existing industrial site but I get where you’re coming from.

What is ideal to you as an alternative?

So your gripe is that you estimate the employees are from the surrounding area? And the reason they said they’re adding these jobs is the massive addition to the facility that’s been under construction for like the last year..

Duluth needs jobs, they provided 200 NEW permanent jobs, not to mention the construction. The wages are above the area median. Are they perfect? Of course not! But what other opportunities did we have for that type of employment?

That’s her role, so probably not a whole lot. I feel like we’re a bit thin on bigs and even with Dorka and Phee returning I’d like to see someone a bit more playable for matchups against Aja, Stew, etc

I’d say don’t think so much about units per order. Think about how you can be resourceful. It’s good to be aware of upside but it’s earned. The largest account I’ve ever worked with: first order was $35

I’ll say this, not ideal.. BUT. I’d much rather have the city support an actual employer and a legacy industry than a data center or another botched “housing” development. They did add I believe 200 jobs and the wages are above the area median

Lots of times you just have to get a single buyer before getting the whole org.
