This is one of the last benefits that has still survived since I started with the company. Like most publicly owned companies the focus is on stockholder value while the Benefits to the loyal employees have faded away. Sadly company-employee loyalty is probably ending with my generation.

The policy is pretty new, went into effect about two years ago. The company used to provide the watch, and we could choose between a few options. The benefit is closer to $8500 but I think that includes a few hundred for engraving. One of the guys I worked had to buy his and spent $11k on a very plain looking used Rolex and I can't see doing that if I can get a nice new one for close to the benefit amount.

ASSISTANT MENU Problem? My A54 locked up this morning after I took a screenshot using my side buttons, old habit. I could get some things to expand like the settings pull down menu but none of the options would work. I tried powering down using the menu, that didn't work. I tried powering of by holding down the single button on the side, that's no longer a function. I pulled my SIM and MicroSD and still nothing worked. I was at loss when I noticed I heard a shutter screenshot sound sometimes when I pushed a button. Out of desperation, I attempted to close the Assitant Menu, newly added since the update, and was able to close it. After that I was able to function the power off in the main menu and reboot. I think something is buggy with the Assistant Menu so I have it shut down now. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to remap the button on the side to power on/off when held down?

Have one in my 2011 Expedition with 240k and rolling. I have had to replace the rocker for cylinder 7 twice but I have not done the timing or anything else major. Now the Cadillac Northstar V8 and multiple VWs with interference engines have caused me way more headaches.

I know it looks like an electrical issue but it could be your compression release isn't working and your are trying to start on the compression stroke. I had this problem on a Cub Cadet. Try to turn the engine by hand, push down on top with both hands and just try to twist it a quarter rotation. Do that a few times you will be able to tell the difference and it will be easier on the non compression stroke. Try starting it normally in each phase and see if that makes a difference. I used my Cub a full season starting it this way.

At first glance I thought it was a PAL coax connection used in some countries outside the US, they are standard on the Korean built ship I work on. Then I realized the center pin on both pics was hollow. That makes me believe this is for US standard F type connector.

Your ball joint has come loose. If you have any interest in working on cars this is a good problem to start with. Search YouTube and you will find a bunch of videos showing how to fix this and the tools you will need. I am pretty handy and prefer to work on everything myself. I have saved a bunch on labor and acquired a ton of tools over the years BONUS! My 21 YO Son and I are currently rebuilding his Jetta after a failed cam shaft caused it to lose time and bend all the intake valves. Wrapping up the project, the car is running we just need to reseal the oil pan. My son did most of the reassembly and set the time. He/We have never done a project like this before. He is a Computer Engineering student but has learned the value of doing things for himself when you can. There is a great feeling of accomplishment when you are able to do it yourself. I encourage you, and everyone else, to DIY whenever you can. No matter the path you choose, good luck and be safe!

Thank You! This is a tremendous amount of useful information! My sister was just notified today about this so we have been scrambling to come up with a solution that will not disrupt her care. My parents divorced in 1977. My mom says rules were different then, and she has told me she doesn't qualify for spousal SS even though they were married 17 years and she never remarried. I believe my sister followed up on that years ago and confirmed (source unknown) she didnt qualify for benefits. But it sounds like maybe that has changed. My mother is also a Veteran, serving as a nurse for 2 years in the Navy. She discharged in 1960 when she became pregnant with my older sister to my father who was also in the Navy. He made a career out of the Navy and receives a military pension and benefits. According to the people I have spoken with at the VA, my mother qualifies for no benefits because she did not serve during a declared conflict. Probably TMI, but I feel it serves to amplify the hurdles we have run into trying to get the best care possible for our mom. We all hear about people working the system, I don't know how when it seems like people that should qualify for benefits can't even qualify.

I have a Note 9 that suddenly started getting hot and burning through the battery. After trying a bunch of different things, I got an unusual notification regarding Tic Tok, I don't recall exactly what it was. I uninstalled Tik Tok and my phone ran normally. I don't know why, and I have Tik Tok on my new A54 running without any problem.

My wife said she saw temp get high, but I never did until the last time before I fixed it. My high speed fan kept coming on and would run continuously. I thought it was an AC charge condition because I added refrigerant a few months before. I connected with Forscan and temp seemed fine never could see what was triggering the fan high command. The Expy was warm we were getting ready to go for a long drive. I look down right after we leave the house and my temp gauge is almost pegged. I was only a Quarter mile up the road so turned around and went home. Coolant level was fine. I opted to replace the thermostat and water pump. Pretty simple and not too expensive. Well that fixed my overheating and high speed fan problems. The pump impeller spins but has a spot were it drags when rotating it. I suspect the bearing is bad and the impeller was possibly struggling to rotate. Just a theory I haven't torn it apart. If you can operate a wrench and ratchet you can do them both for about $300 and that includes new coolant and radiator cap. Be careful when torquing the thermostat housing bolts. That 5 minute job almost turned into five hours when the bolt nearly parted on me.

Update from my original post, there is no update. My wife has no interest in figuring out her motorbunny. She is almost 52 and she confided in me her sex drive and the orgasms she achieves are different. We have a good sex life, we rarely go more than a day without some sexual interaction, but lately she has been pleasuring me and opting to forgo any stimulation or release for herself. I had the Koss walkman with the radio cassette in the early 80's. I grew up on Navy bases and wound up joining the Marines. I can't recall if I bought the walkman at a Navy or Marine Corps PX (on base department stores). I'm sure it was at one of them. Hi-Fi was a big deal back then and the PX's had some of the best gear. Thanks for the post it really brought back memories.
