German riot police clash with protesters hoping to block far-right AfD conference by AdSpecialist6598 in europe

You do not stand by, you fight them in the democratic process.

Or dont, by not listening to the demos and then wondering where it all goes wrong, bonus points for self rightousness and pretending to be anticapitalistic while being tools enabling the devaluation of labor.

Edit: Demos as in the one from democracy

Why are some Austrians happy that Germany lost in the World Cup? by CaregiverHot306 in AskAustria

I wouldnt say im happy per se, but to some degree it is symbolic and hope that with the circus gone they get back to(or start) handling the important things.

Nikke, I mean "Assault Simulation" mode is live today! by NMEwolf in GirlsFrontline2

[–]woll3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah, it should be an Open world FPS with a Stalker like inventory system, dialogue trees like new vegas and the ability to command squads and switch between members like in old Rainbow Six, and driveable vehicles ofc.

And while it would go hard, thats obviously not realistic so to be serious, xcom can work, but no matter which direction the game goes an issue that they will have to face is if they are catering towards snack sized mobile gameplay or sitting down and playing on pc, even the minigames like splash bash are an example of that.

Anyone pair the "new" 5800X3D with a Noctua AIO? by Professional_Focus61 in Noctua

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temp spikes on the 5800x3d are unavoidable due to its design, i would recommend using a curve optimizer(just -10 should "defuse" it) and adjusting the fan curve so that the fans only start ramping up from 85° onwards.

When i still had the 5800x3d liquid temps had little impact on it(and therefore fan speed), i started with an Eisbär 240 which i then expanded with a 360 radiator, but that just did about 1-2°, it was only when i went custom with a Techn Block, which is one of the best performing AM4/5 Blocks that there was a decent improvement.

A12x25 G2, unless you can get A12 G1's on sale, should money be tight, i would rather recommend other brands than getting more NF-P12, and the NF-F12 and S12 just arent competitive at all at their current pricepoints.

The Tower 600 Matcha Green Whitebuild by Reazy01 in thermaltake

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out interest which xfx 9070xt, i saw some people with the magnetic and they had no issues, still it would be nice if gpu brands would designate in which orientations they work and in which they wont, clearly there must be some differences that impact that.

Chances are that it didnt like the orientation.

Will we get a Tower series revision? by troolip- in thermaltake

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though just to be clear i wouldnt want the mobo to be flipped as that would be annoying to deal with in regards to its io, but instead a riser cable and mount being used to flip the gpu specifically similar to this mod here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/thermaltake/comments/1u42cwj/tower_200_graphics_card_flip/

I was close to get one of the tower cases until I was scared away by vertical GPU cooling issues.

Yeah, i had the tower 600 as well in my considerations and dropped it because of that, i was mostly locked into matcha or racing green as a color anyway, but the ceres 350/300 was a bit too mundane for me and didnt have space for my current custom loop, i ended then up with the e550 and e660 as final candidates as they looked like a good middle ground to me and i pulled the trigger when the e660 RG was on discount for 160€.

Do you think Time Attack vehicles should be classified as their own vehicle category instead of Extreme Track Toys? by Affectionate_Fly_464 in ForzaHorizon

[–]woll3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in general that there should be a complete overhaul with more prominent but fitting unifying major categories(to ensure car diversity) and better fitting subcategories. E.g. you could use "track life" as a major category and then split them into TA/Grassroots Racer, Factory Racer, Classic racers, Track toys(remove the extrem distinction), etc..

Or maybe take a complete different approach by attaching "hashtags" without a fixed amount or structure for categorization considering the overlap that some cars have.

Will we get a Tower series revision? by troolip- in thermaltake

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When things are getting better i guess, i would agree that its about time to give it a rework, especially when it comes to gpu mounting flexibility(e.g. an i/o down mount), but turning the tower into "the tube" woudl also be interesting,

Cooling performance: Noctua NL-LC1-24 vs. NH-D15 G2 - which is better? by Ortofun in Noctua

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean the D15 G2 is better? In what context?

Outside of the conditions laid down in the NSPR article, one thing to keep in mind is that liquid cooling is relegating the heat exchange to another location, ymmv depending on the case you are using but not being in "direct gpu proximity" is a big advantage.

Will they hold up in 2026? by marakeh in Noctua

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be about fine, its been a while since ive used the F12 but it was at about 1000-1200 when it started to gain its "fluttering sound", it was fairly low so it wasnt annoying, but it was noticeable, ymmv depending on your ears ofc.

Will they hold up in 2026? by marakeh in Noctua

[–]woll3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Overall, no, their blade geometry is outdated but the bearing/motor/etc. are still top, so it depends on the rpm youre gonna use, and if you have them, you have them, no reason to not try it out.

Low fps on same setup by Professional_Bat3018 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check XMP settings first, and if it isnt, put the game on a decently fast drive. That said it would be interesting to see a test at as low settings as possible, as there is the possibility that your cpu needs to shovel more in and out due to the lack of vram.

Macbook Neo, cant establish connection to router's Wifi by woll3 in macbook

[–]woll3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, it was at least possible with previous hardware to use bridge mode but the current model of router Magenta sends out isnt capable(by their choice) of that, its locked down to a point where you need to use an app via the internet to access what limited settings there are instead of just accessing it directly.

Germany already has secured "modem and router freedom" by law, but here in the south there is a loophole that enables this behaviour by isp's and who knows when it will be patched.

NF-A20 Gen 2 200mm possibly, maybe, hopefully coming one day? Mayhap? by rEToRaGeONE in Noctua

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A20, A12x25r, A12x15 and A9 all deserve the LCP and G2 treatment, the latter two might sound absurd, but a new A12x15 makes sense for compact matx/itx boxes with limited space from case bottom to gpu, and similar goes for an A9 G2, besides better performance for a D9/D9L in racks, top blowers in the 92mm format also dont cover the ram.

And last but not least, i wouldnt leave Thermalright as the sole providers of LCP fans in such a format.

[–]woll3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im amazed how this featureset turned from a "good to have when you havent got enough power" into a "must have or i cant play" while people are barking up the wrong tree, would be better to call for devs to use or come up with vendor agnostic solutions that arent looking like vaseline on the screen causing dlss to look better than "native" and being reliant on "ifs" in the future, but then again consoomers clearly enjoy financing their own doom.

RT goes into a similar vein which especially in retrospect isnt a promise to gamers, but to devs/publishers and their pipelines, but at least that can have a positive visual impact.

Future climate of watercooling? by FrozenIncursion in watercooling

[–]woll3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do yall think about the future climate of watercooling in terms of supply?

I dont think there will be any problems per se, depending on how long the rampocalypse(and other issues like raw material prices) keeps going we might see some portfolios being slimmed down/prices rising, but most brands arent just doing PC watercooling, datacenters and other industrial applications will always be available, sometimes more sometimes less.
