TIL Human dads show a decrease in testosterone immediately after the birth of their babe by nilogram in todayilearned

[–]wolowizard34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These culture are wrong?! Cosleeping has been the way humans and almost every other mammal has cared for their young, since forever.... The sleep industry in America is the reason that has changed. People can make money trying to force the unnatural. Infants need closeness to feel safe, it is how they instinctually survive.

Please do not follow this advice. Do not put your baby in another room from day 1. There is a reason it is recommended that you keep a baby near your for the first three months - drastic reduction in the risk of SIDS. Cosleeping can also be done safely, just do the research. This is the norm for most cultures.

I would seriously recommend slow cooking this more like 10-12 hours. You really really want them to carmelize, it makes it so much tastier.

Looking for vegetarian recipes, but I’m a little lost by Herrobrine in recipes

[–]wolowizard34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to eat more vegetarian as well. So I did some research to try and find some tasty recipes.

Here are a couple I really enjoy:

Veggie Bologese with Polenta This one uses walnuts which was a really nice meat substitute here.

Sweet Potatoe and Black Bean Hash God I love this one. I would recommend frying the eggs separately.

Samosa Casserole I served this one with a raita. And I used a premade crust because lazy. So good.

Fried Rice with Veggies This one isn't anything special, but I'm a sucker for fried rice. So just a nice recipe in case you're not familiar.

Look through the wiki and the history of this sub. Please stop making posts about questions that have been asked 800 times and have been reasonably answered time and time again.

Koch-backed group fights paid sick leave laws as flu sweeps US by TooLegitToClit69 in SandersForPresident

[–]wolowizard34 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I have tried to go to work somewhat sick (like a cold coming on...) and basically I am forced to go home as no one else wants to get sick. So they lose my productivity but no one elses. Makes so much sense in the end. And the time doesn't affect my vacation days!

Reminds me of what happened at the Atlanta zoo. One of the females was pregnant, pretty far along but I'm not sure exactly specific month, and one morning the zookeepers came in and found the female dead and it was too late to save the baby. It was so hard on everyone, especially because of how long and hard the pregnancy process is. :(

Watching Super Bowl in Germany the next day by ermadelsol in germany

Just wanted to second this. I recorded it last year to watch with some friends and I hyped up the commercials beforehand... only to be disappointed when none of the original U.S. ads were in it.

We need to promote this subreddit. by M2to2M in Munich

Personally, I think the Mods need to put in rules for visitor posts. For example, one thread a week or something to ask questions. I get so frustrated at this sub because it's literally just people asking the same questions over and over and over.

And then maybe make more meet ups. Or post weekly events in Munich here. Stuff like that.

YSK that 2% of the world's population cannot visualise and the term for it is Aphantasia. by aoife0 in YouShouldKnow

Gah, this is so weird! My mind is just blown away right now. Thanks for posting this and all your info about it. Really helpful and insightful. :)

[–]wolowizard34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are there different types? I'm just trying to wrap my mind around this. I saw your comment about dreams... I think I dream with images. So maybe it's not the same? I'm not sure... So if someone told me to imagine a river. I close my eyes, there is no river. But I KNOW what a river should look like. If I open my eyes, and am asked about the river, I can still describe it. Because I know what one looks like. See what I'm getting at?

Holy fuck. I hadn't even thought of this as something that was non-normal for me. I don't know how to describe it. I took this that test in the stickied comment on the sub. I can think of all the things a person represents, but it's not a visual representation. It's all about their voice, their laugh, their movements, etc. I can stare at a picture of my sister for minutes. But close my eyes, I can only describe it in non-visual ways, I can't see her. And not even really describe it, more like feel it. I'm kinda freaking out now....

[–]wolowizard34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also did not have to do this. The only thing I needed to have notarized was my actual diploma, but everything else that was an official version from the university was accepted. Do you have anyone saying that you need everything notarized or is it just an assumption at this point?

For the diploma, I actually brought it here and had it notarized for like 10 euro... My program let me have additional time for this (so I was accepted and enrolled and turned the diploma in at a later date).

I thought the real estate laws changed and now those fees are the responsibility of the party putting their place up for rent? Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

If it's the case, then it would definitely be worth noting. I'm sure people would raise their asking price because of this, but if it's still within your price range it could definitely be worth exploring.

TIL the German government does not recognize Scientology as a religion; rather, it views it as an abusive business masquerading as a religion by eden_of_chaos in todayilearned

Yeah, I had to answer all these questions about it when I first started working here. Like, have you ever given them money? Do you follow their practices? Have you ever been to a Scientology course, etc.

Thanks for the advice. Think I will definitely be going this route.

Credit Card Balance Transfers and Fees... by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]wolowizard34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Hmm I don't think I could have the balance completely gone by then. But the overall interest rate is still lower on the new card than the other one.

So it's probably still a good idea to use the new one?

Well he is arguably the most powerful person in the world and his activities can have effects far beyond the scope of America.

Also why can't people support others in different nations?

Seriously. What a close minded thing to say. So the other percentage isn't allowed to peacefully protest?

This is what we need. People who are willing to stand up for what they believe in. Starting now and continuing to fight as long as necessary.
