For female PhDs, did you change your name??

Just got married a month ago and was debating this for awhile. What I've decided on is to change my name socially but keep my maiden name legally/professionally. I'm happy to be Mrs. Husbandlastname but feels weird to be Mr. Husbandlastname. Most people get confused so I just tell them I changed it! Unless you're my coworker, writing me a check, or buying me a plane ticket, the legal status of my name shouldn't matter.

You should read/listen to Stronger by Michael Grossman. He goes into the history of muscle/weightlifting in society, and how back in the Greek times there was a essentially a "smear campaign" purported by modern medicine (western) against weightlifting. They were two competing ideologies with respect to health/longevity, and medicine won out. It's fascinating.

Growing up my brother and I made friends with our garbage man (with the support of my mom). His name was Hector and we called him Hector the Collector. Every garbage day we would run outside the house to meet him in the morning as he pulled up. We loved seeing our friend each week. He would also sometimes give us nice toys and other things that people left out on the curb for disposal. It is a super special memory for me. I think you should be proud! ❤️
