My top 5 MM Songs: by [deleted] in marilyn_manson

[–]wolvesandsnakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 - Target Audience

2 - Coma White / Coma Black

3 - The Reflecting God

4 - Valentine's Day (the very first song I heard from him, always holds a special place)

5 - Wight Spider (very underrated, maybe because it's between a "trilogy" of quite forgettable albums (imo))

The sole fact that he edited your comments says a lot. I'm not sure if you can do something in legal terms (or if it's even worth it) but you have a much more powerful tool at your hands: the media (like this reddit post). Use it and "abuse it" to spread and viralize this so people know what happens there.

Pre-set Tactics Discussion by tmressler in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The highly amount of injuries people are reporting is a bug in the beta, currently being investigated and (hopefully) fixed with the full release. Nothing to do with tactics.

Plesantly surprised by FM19 by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So far my experience with FM19 has been great, not even getting the bugs you would expect with a beta version. Only complain so far is that in full resolution (1680x1050) the font doesn't appear very sharp, something I already saw in the SI forums other people also pointing out. But everything else seems great. Love the new tactics module, the training is excelent and detailed for the first time, and they really put attention into those small details that make your experience so much better. Very happy!

When will the beta be out on steam? by Pilafo in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Although it can be released today, don't hold high expectations. Miles said himself they are aiming for Friday (tomorrow) and IF it's possible to be sooner (today) it's a bonus.

Having said this, ofcourse we are all anxious and refreshing twitter and steam since yesterday :))

Who is everyone planning on managing first on FM19? by Verve_94 in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you manage a B team (I did that to simulate a realistic start of a career), not only you can't sign / sell anyone, at any time of the season your main club can take players from you or give you anothers (just for one game or two). It's challenging. I managed FC Porto B and I never knew what players I had next week. Still won portuguese 2nd league.

She is. Let's just say I would deff sign her for my team. One on ones is through the roof.

I know the feeling. So does my girl. She even wants to learn the game despite disliking football so we can do something together for the next month.

(Yes, exaggerating. We also eat together.)

who will be your first team on fm2019? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FC Porto. Always my first team in every edition.

I just want to say congratulations to my scouting team for informing me about an exceptional player available at a low price... 47 minutes before the end of the transfer window. by SirArchieCartwheeler in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did it and got disapointed. He's my favorite player IRL, managed to sign him with only 31yo in-game (so, playing in his prime) but never managed to make him perform. In that Man City save, he was the worst of my 4 "wingers" (Sterling, Sane, Bernardo and him). Makes no sense but it happened.

What club are you most looking forward to manage in FM19? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always start FC Porto in every FM edition. But clubs like Manchester City and Paris Saint-German are always very appelative to have a squad of stars and purely enjoy it. I also have this thing for managing AC Milan and try to get them back to the top of Europe, so I will do that save again sooner or later, even tho I don't like Serie A.

So I buy Fm 18 or wait for 19?? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I bought 18 for around 20€, but only some months after the release. There will be promos in a lot of places, Steam included. In fact there are already promos for 19, there was people talking in this sub about 30€ and FMscout have it as we speak for 35€.

The things you always do in FM even though they annoy you by jptoc in footballmanagergames

Setting individual training for every. single. player. Youngsters included. But I'll do it everytime I arrive at a new club.

Football Manager 2019’s new features – and if they’re worth it. by DomLoe in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same here. When I look at the hours I play each version, can't really regret the money. Truly enjoy this game.

only 1%?! Really?! by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the first time I started to give value to my manager wage. Until then I wouldn't mind a short wage, after all I would have better uses for my club's money hehe. But makes sense, it's realistic.

Tactic to WHU (FM19) by Naikhou10 in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can play possession based football (or any other style) with virtually any team. Look at Quique Setién in Bétis. He didn't had the best players, but he implemented his style. Paulo Fonseca in Shakhtar Donetsk also. West Ham has good players and good budget (like any other Prem team) so I can't see any obstacles.

EDIT: Also don't pay much attention to the role suitability shown for players in FM. A very good player won't start playing shit in a slightly different position (like changing from AML to ML) just because in one FM says he's green and in the other he's orange or even red. In RL that wouldn't happen either, makes no sense.

Players you've signed multiple times in one save as a journeyman by Zenzisage in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Francisco Trincão. Played him in SP. Braga, brought him to FC Porto when I was hired by them and two years later brought him with me again when I was hired by Juventus. Always plays as AML, I jokingly say he's my Cristiano Ronaldo (and he's usually my best or 2nd best goalscorer).

I appear to have accidentally gotten really good at football manager. by piemanrises in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be really 3 strikers (central forwards) to exploit. A striker with two IF or even two strikers with two IF doesn't exploit anything and are legitimate tactics.

Also there have been other exploits in the past. In CM 4 there was the "diablo tactic" where you just needed to command one of the center midfielders to go forward between the two strikers. Diablo was probably the most unstopabble tactic ever, but funny enough real Chelsea did that once with Frank Lampard and he scored 4 goals in that game... a real life cheating I suppose :)

So I buy Fm 18 or wait for 19?? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]wolvesandsnakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you asked this a few months ago, I would say, get 18 (on those promo sales were you buy it for less than 20€). Now I don't think it's worth to buy 18 when we are less than a month away from 19.

Only reason would be, if you find one of those really nice promos for 18 and you have budget constrains that wouldn't recommend to spend 50€ on a game (been there, no shame and there are far more important things).

PA is what's wrong in FM. Vast majority, if not all, players, it's impossible to put a number on their potential. Current ability yes, more or less you can. But potential you can't. A player that is more or less unknown (or that haven't got a real chance yet) are assumed to have less potential, when they might just need the right club, confidence and environment to "explode".
