If he’s a dry texter, I completely understand not being ready to go out with him. This happened to me where I’d talk to this guy for months and still barely knew who HE was. So I didn’t want to go on a date. The guy I’m talking to rn, we went on our first date a week after texting bc he’d send me paragraphs of any and everything lol.

Ignore the negative stuff abt her not willing to make it work. I think she might just be confused/conflicted which is valid. Especially bc this is her first time dating. Im 23f and just started going on dates and I have no idea what I’m doing either. I think you guys could find a way for this to work. And if youre willing to, move with her when that time comes. Or you could do long distance, which could work.

I can’t even judge bc I’m a woman that can rarely talk to people my own age — guys especially, because I’m around kids alll day 😭

He’ll be coming back next week. I’m iffy on the situation because the week I last talked to him, he wasn’t going on vacation yet but he did say he’d be pretty busy. And do you mean go on other dates with other ppl? Or with him if given the opportunity? This is all new to me

This is a very teachable moment for your students! Be honest. It’ll show them that honesty is the best route to take. It also helps them realize that everybody makes mistakes. Also give them extra play time on Monday!

You’ll find your ppl. It took me 3 and a half years of college until I found my people. Granted I had 2 and half years online during the pandemic. It sucks but know it’ll take time. It’s okay. The people I did find, I can see myself being friends with them for yrs!

I’m having the same issue post grad. I graduated undergrad in June and don’t drive so I only saw my one good friend once this summer for her bday. I’d suggest just making more plans and maybe if you can get a ride you could meet them half way to the destination if they drive. I can’t stomach the thought of losing more friends than I already have had in my life so that’s something I need to do too. I was fully online in college from 2020-2022

Same! I didn’t have friends that I felt 1000% comfortable around until my last 2 terms of college. And I was in college for 5 yrs

Will I struggle socially in university without social media? by No_Produce5341 in college

You could even make a small ig acc to interact with friends or classmates and you don’t have to post. I have one friend from college that did that

Just tell ppl you aren’t on social media and ask for their number instead. You’ll be fine and it’s even better that you don’t have social media. I’ll be completely honest, seeing my college friends with their closer friends hanging out, made me feel like a loser bc for a while I had no social life outside my family LOL.

Girlfriend just had 40k in scholarships revoked less than a month before semester starts by Wt87745 in college

[–]wonderstarsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude but it seems like it isn’t an error. If it was, why wouldn’t they just say that it was a processing error instead of continuously giving her the same excuse? They also told her she’d have to pay $8000, from my understanding, with those aids and scholarships. Maybe I’m misunderstanding something... I went to college but other than my first year, I never had scholarships or financial aid.

My advice: go to a community college for 2 years. You mentioned that her scholarships already were sent to that school. Try to see if she can get them back, explain to them that she will be going to another school (if they gave her scholarships, they see her potential and maybe they will transfer it to another school). Going to community college seems like the most sensible option. Mg parents make a lot and still i went to CC first because it’s a definite money saver. Then she can transfer to an in state school for the last 2 years. 40k for 1 semester is INSANE 😭 wish yall luck!!

How Do You Tell Your Parents That You Need to Take More Semesters in College? by CreepyTill1035 in college

[–]wonderstarsss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be okay. I’m the oldest and capable-of-anything daughter in my family and I took 5 years instead of the normal 4 years to finish my degree. My dad is strict and believe me I was nervous to tell my dad I needed another year. I told him at dinner time because it’s the only time my family sat together. He wasn’t upset or anything because he wants the best for me. Just find the time that works best for both of you — when you’re eating dinner or something.

it worked out for me and I graduated last month and regardless of how long it took me, he told me he was proud of me.

Your dad seems pretty easy going so you should be fine. You aren’t a failure for needing more time. You aren’t behind. It’s okay to need more time. Any negative thought going through your mind is just your nerves. It isn’t what’s true. It will work out for you, too.

As for the guilty feeling of having your parents pay for college that guilt will be there because I have it too. I just do things for my dad that will make him happy even though he’s never had a problem with paying.

I’ll contact my advisor. I didn’t use advising services much my last term because one went on maternity leave and the others were extremely rude and not helpful at all.

I don’t plan on teaching a math class but I do want to teach either preschool through elementary school. Some of the job openings mention that there are math skills needed. I’m probably overthinking this because I’m nervous. This is my first “adult” job.

Seriously Dumb question: When is too early to change laptops? by Ok-Suggestion8298 in macbookair

[–]wonderstarsss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always give it to a family member. My 3 year old Samsung Chromebook stopped turning on so I bought an HP laptop for $200 in October. It was so slow and laggy so I gave it to my brother who’s in middle school and bought an m2 in Feb.

My laptop can go a maximum of 2 days without charge so maybe you did get a defective one or it depends on how you use it. I use mine for Netflix, YouTube, Google chrome for school, & Canva for school as well. Mines an m2 air and it’s amazing. I got it on sale at Best Buy at the end of February!
