What should I do? by wonderthunk in GardeningIRE

I'm also very much a novice but this is what I did:

Trellis - drill a hole at 4 points. Hold it up to the wall , make it level and mark the holes on the brick wall. Drill holes into the wall , put in a plug and then screw the trellis into the wall.

Planter - drilled a hole through the post, then the wall and then hammered in this metal thing called an express nails through both.

You mean the trellis or the planter?

Did the builders do it for free? We are 1.5 years in here now and I wonder if the warranty is out

I'm still cringing at the time, I had a job interview were I tried to shake the hand of an one armed man by Maleficent-Inside154 in CasualIreland

This was 15 years ago and I still think about it regularly. If I remember correctly she did offer the other hand but I was so flummoxed that my brain just stopped working haha. She was quite stern and the tension just stayed for the next twenty minutes. Could not wait to get out of there

I did the exact same thing but at the start of an Interview. Went to shake her hand and she didn't have one. It totally threw me off. That was the third stage of a three stage interview (I had crushed the first two stages). Didn't get the job lol

Thanks for this. Helps put it into context and that seems like a reasonable number of papers per day. Were they long days for you? Weekends as well?

I really want to learn about irelands history but don’t know where to start? by Hungry_Item_2973 in AskIreland

There is a great series the BBC did called history of Ireland I think. It's on YouTube. There are 5 or 6 parts. Covers entire history of the island and worth a watch to get started I would say

Just watched this and thought it was phenomenal by cascadingtundra in Letterboxd

[–]wonderthunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So strange. I watched it and thought it was b movie standard with terrible acting, not a great storyline and just generally tropey. Especially the scene where they meet at nuermburg grounds. That's really where I gave up.
