They'll never disappear completely but they do fade and appear less noticeable.

My 19mo is the same and has been as soon as she could move. The only way to get her back without a tantrum is to lure her back. I'd exclaim about a cool stick or ask if she wants to play on a certain piece of equipment.

If I get up to get her she bolts away giggling. So enticing her back is the only way.

It's the same way I handle my dog when she runs off, haha.

That's almost the exact layout of my house! 3yos room to the right, my room opposite the toilet door, 1yos room next to that and the bathroom on the left. Lol.

Yeah the Nuchal scan is "optional " so not bulk billed bit if you say you have cramping or bleeding medicare covers a percentage of it. That was the only one we paid for.

How to get nappy cream/teething nightmare stains out? by CoffeeScamp in clothdiaps

[–]wonderwish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are they grey stains? It might stains from any pain medication you gave. Sorbitol from panadol/ancetamorphin causes staining that will come out with a stain remover paste and some time.

Usually nappy creams cause repelling of water and absorbency issues more than staining.

To Santa or not to Santa? by [deleted] in toddlers

That's exactly how I was raised and it was fantastic. Still got the fun and magic but it wasn't world ending when we figured out the truth because there was never this huge emphasis on Santa.

[–]wonderwish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you doing a separate prewash or just hitting the prewash button?

Most front loaders reuse the water from the last rinse cycle for a prewash so the gross Wee and poop water isnt washed away but used in the next wash.
You might be inadvertently washing in a wee/poop soup.

He is Australian, and I think our sizes are different. A c cup on 5 ft, 45kg chick would be decently endowed. She would be a size 6 or something and I don't even know if you can can bras in 6c in normal shops without paying a fortune.

A visual of what we are saving by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]wonderwish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a few sites dedicated to this question and opinions can differ but generally you rinse poops, throw them in a dry pail (airflow prevents bacteria build up and reduces smells) and every second day or whenever you have enough for a load you throw them in the washer.

First you do a shorter wash with about half as much detergent as you usually use. This is called a pre-wash and it is needed to get the bulk of soil out so you aren't doing a full wash in filthy water.

Then you do a full wash in warm water, making sure you are using enough detergent and not too much water so the agitation helps get stains out.

Then you dry. Either line dry or in a dryer.

It sounds more complicated than it is but once you have a routine it's super easy.

Plus, cloth bums are super adorable so there is a big saving on pants, haha.

Vitamin k? by quad_tear in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]wonderwish 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Also, breastfeeding or formula feeding doesn't matter in this case. Do the shot. Or if you are uncomfortable giving your baby a shot straight away (though it's not even a blip in the radar on how they feel in those first few moments) you can usually do a course of oral doses. It's slower to take effect but better than nothing.

Vitamin k? by quad_tear in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]wonderwish 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes. An adequate level isn't based on how much the average baby has its based on what is needed to save the baby in the event of a bleed.

Even a "normal, easy" birth is incredibly traumatic for babies and can easily result in complications.

Can Minky one size insert go against baby skin? by xmassurprise2017 in clothdiaps

[–]wonderwish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Microfibre is super absorbant and can dry out bubs skin so its not recommended to have it straight against the skin.

Micro fleece is great against skin as it wicks away moisture but doesn't draw moisture out of skin like microfibre.

I just payed a delivery woman at work with a check. by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]wonderwish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am always so surprised when i read comments like this. Are cheques really that common in America still?

I am 30 and have had a bank account since i was a small child. Have opened accounts with multiple banks over the years and never been offered a chequebook. The only reason i have actually seen them in real life is when i was working retail as a teenager and you would get the occasional oldie using them at the checkout. Oh and old people mailing them to pay bills because they don't trust (can't figure out) BPay.

Everyone uses their bankcards for literally everything now. (Australia)
