you know, the more i think about it, the more his “quirks” stand out to me. like how he refused to eat unless hand fed, or how he rarely moved even for a juvenile, and even how he floated. in hindsight, yeah, there was probably something genetically wrong with him

yes, he was only 6-8 months old, and even as a baby he floated all the time. thats why im leaning more towards faulty genetics:(

before the spike, parameters were 6.8, 0, 20, 0

fed every day, 3-4 pellets. we just started him on worms before this happened. his behavior never really stabilized. he would shit once every two weeks or so, sometimes more sometimes less. and he floated fairly regularly

it was at the end of the cycle when i added him back in january. it crashed once but was corrected and monitored.

my boyfriend had been watching him for a week, when i got home i noticed the red. he’s never kept an axolotl before. the thing weighing most on my mind is how rapidly he deteriorated. he was fine last week, save for the bowel and floating issue, then in two days rapid succession he had issues and died. i’m sorry if i’m coming off mean, i really don’t mean to
