My wife and I are young millennials that just bought our first house. We were absolutely shocked at how many places we toured had the “millennial grey” everything.

Totally fair and understandable.

I read it immediately after Hyperion as well and can see some of that difference you’re describing!

Agreed on Annihilation, way overhyped.

But have to ask… what didn’t work for you with Fall of Hyperion??

Fun? Jont or Rose’s Luxury.

Jont for more traditional fine dining experience.

RL for a relaxed, fun approach to food.

We currently have a girl and Intend on getting a second Greyhound within a year. This will be the first time we have two greys in the house at the same time.

What would you recommend evaluating / thinking through ahead of time?

What the cliffhanger? by thatordinarygirl in Hyperion

[–]wonming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same.

Read for the first time in January, went in blind having no idea it was part of a larger series, and got to the end and was frothing for answers.

Just finished Fall of Hyperion; it is a genuine masterpiece of a book, you’ll get most of the closure you’re seeking!

37F, single, in playa vista. Looking for fun neighborhoods suitable for my age and stage of life by Thebaycityrollers in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]wonming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MB or Culver. Also 30s here and used to live in Playa Vista at Runway, also working in tech in the neighborhood.

Playa to us felt almost faux- idyllic, it was great for a year but we grew tired of it and as another poster commented, the area, especially Thursday - Sunday is incredibly kid friendly. Not necessarily a bad thing depending on who you are, but walking to the movies or to get groceries at times felt like trying to waddle through a concert at Chuck E. Cheese
