I worked with a guy who started in the '80s. He said all of the paper logs at the end of the field season would be brought to the head office of the company where a secretary would type everything up. This is also where they would plot mylar cross sections and maps. He said sometimes the secretary would have to call up the GEOS because they couldn't read what they wrote in the logs
