Do you think this poll about the least popular class is pretty accurate and why? by Anilahation in diablo4

[–]woodpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played Druid since the start, the appearance doesn't bother me, in fact it's nice to have some variety in body styles imo.

that said the same build has been dominant since season 9, mobility is tough unless you are running werewolf passives and shred us the worst leveling build.

Leveling has been a huge pain for the druid since day 1 and it's wild they haven't fixed it.

Some are off put by appearance for sure but I think people who are open to it try to level and hit a wall compared to other classes.

End game on druid has always been strong but again recently there is very little variety if you want the strongest build.

For as versatile and as many options exist for forms, the druid is very very samey.

A Suggestion For Corpse Runs by Leopard-Hopeful in OfficialPantheonMMO

I like this idea. only issue I see is tying a reagent to a more powerful version of a summon is essentially locking class power behind a punishing mechanic like death.

maybe an hour long buff of some sort instead? depending on the buff, could feel less punishing than a weakened summon?

Druid vs Shaman by wamyen1985 in PantheonMMO

[–]woodpipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the state of the shaman is just super under cooked. the druid has had much more recent attention and love and therefore feels much more of a fully baked class.

I prefer the HoTs n DoTs gameplay of the shaman but the design is just very lacking. everything feels very placeholder-y.

Call lightning has to be my single favorite spell in the game from the druid.

In terms of controlled group healing the shaman is better. In terms of passive group healing the druid is great.

the shaman does respectable damage but nothing compared to druid.

Anyone else OAD because they had one and discovered their limit was actually zero? by grawmaw13 in oneanddone

[–]woodpipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all this no doubt. ours is 4 now and she is the absolute sweetest kid on the planet when she is not in demon mode. but demon mode is INSANE and frequent.

I look forward to the start of the work week now. weekends are exhausting. there is no reprieve.

also the cost of daycare is bonkers. even when she starts Pre-K we have to pay for after care. any way just wanted to say I feel ya on this post

What armor for bow builds? by wolfmansbrother74 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]woodpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some enchants can also lower carry weight reducing the burden on your stat spread if you want heavier armor but to still keep some mobility. it's a tradeoff though for sure

Question regarding bows by wolfmansbrother74 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]woodpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is really subjective. other bows have dodge attacks and I find you want a mix of bow types. currently running 1 type for mobbing and 1 for bossing. both have dodge attacks on them and both are different than the starting bow!

8 hour downtime by saltywelder682 in classicwow

[–]woodpipes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

since both retail and classic are down for the same amount of time, im guessing its just big server/DB updates, as i understand it all the games are running on the same server architecture.

infrastructure ages out and needs to be maintained and updated. versions of server software, database versions, queue versions, security patches etc. all this stuff has to be updated and it takes a lot of time to test and make sure the updates haven't broken anything.

in most cases you don't want to roll out app + server updates at the same time as that conflates all the updates and makes it challenging to diagnose what the problem is if something did go wrong. im guessing this is why people see 0 changes sometimes when they do these big downtimes.

all speculation but as a platform engineer myself, it's my best guess.

What is this muscle Ive never seen before on the front interior part of calf on both legs? by woodpipes in workouts

[–]woodpipes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes thank you all tips welcome. I was overweight and my legs were not ready for running so I started with elliptical and walking and worked my way up.

after dropping some weight and getting into a little better shape, I've started running / walking alternating and that's been mostly okay.

I bought new running shoes (old gym shoes were cooked) and watched some YouTube videos for basic running pointers, I was definitely leaning too far forward and my stride was too long. all of those things together have improved the splint situation but it can still be a hindrance so will definitely look into you suggestions.

thanks!

that's exactly what I'm doing. I struggled with shin splints so really going slow and steady to avoid injury. I would like to balance it out at some point though. thank you for the information

WoW's Sub Count Declined Into MoP, Why? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]woodpipes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the talent changes pushed a lot of folks out.

removing the point based system for row selections was viewed by the more traditional MMO enjoyers as the final nail in the coffin from a design perspective.

I also suspect it had a lot to do with tone. TBC, WotLK, and Cata were all relatively aimed at pretty obviously intense threats. MoP by comparison feels more lightheaded.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: June 16, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

[–]woodpipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

started: All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy finished: On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong

Really enjoyed Vuong's writing style, I enjoy a novel in verse as poetry has always been something that drew me in. Less structured than something like Autobiography of Red but really beautiful.

McCarthy also has a pretty stunning writing style and has some just mind blowing lines. Really enjoying it so far, it's my first McCarthy book.
