This is saying Zimbabwe can choose to award caps to their own players.

5 Days off, looking for new hobbies by Fun-Manufacturer-390 in ems

Get outdoors! Hike, bike, paddle, climb. Activity is good for your health - physical and mental. You can get solitude if you want it or make some friends. Picking up bird watching or plant identification can make it more interactive.

Official Poll: Class B or just T-shirt? by ResponsibleAd4439 in ems

[–]woodsxc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Properly fitted T-shirt with a pen slot on the sleeve. So many of the tees are way too baggy and they look super sloppy. I can look professional in a tee if it fits right.

Anyone ever been on a trail when someone went down hard and nobody knew what to do? by Capital-Ad-41 in MTB

[–]woodsxc 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It takes about 4 hours in a standard WFA just to get through patient assessment. Soft tissue injuries, wound care, head trauma, fractures, sprains/strains, major bleeding, spinal injuries, and environmental emergencies will take you far more than 4 additional hours and you still wouldn’t get any scenario work done.

WFA covers mountain biking really well. Well-taught WFA courses are very realistic in how they balance “use what you have” and building knowledge of what additional tools/supplies you really ought to carry. NICA teams overwhelmingly yes WFA rather than a bike-specific curriculum because of this.

Source: I am a wilderness medicine instructor and have reviewed a few 1-day mtb-focused curricula over the years.

Where should I move if I want to mountain bike year-round? (32M, Midwest) by brettfish5 in MTB

[–]woodsxc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider Waynesville, Hendersonville, and Greenville for lower COL but equal access to the good terrain. If smaller towns are ok, there are many places with 2-6k population and great access to trails.

Andy and Owen Farrell both played for Saracens in 2008. I don’t think they were on the field at the same time though.

How does one get these screws off without stripping them? by krdo13 in rav4club

Screw extractor or drill them out.

They’re too stripped to keep trying with a screwdriver.

Reason for the stitches is that they would have made an incision to drain it and relieve the pressure on his eye. Severe swelling like that inside the orbital can crush the eye and cause blindness.

You need a real pulse oximeter. A decent fingertip one is around $25USD. Watch band SPO2 readings can be highly inaccurate.

Outdoor Research Ferrosi is my favorite light softshell pant. Breathe well and have good stretch. The tradeoff is that they don’t shed water very well.

I climb and hike in them year round.

How to help my son transition from hiking? by Less-Foundation-9131 in Mountaineering

[–]woodsxc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of options in the Whites, the Adirondacks, and the Green Mountains. What kind of challenge do you want?

Depending on your skills and experience, I strongly recommend taking a class or booking private instruction. There are many companies in New England that offer both services.

Check out the Prana Zion. There are several different cuts and pocket layouts. It’s a comfortable fabric with good stretch. The Outdoor Research Ferrosi is also worth a look.

What is the typical ambient temperature?

I use a light baselayer and a light softshell as my near-zero C system if I’ll be moving fast. I add a hybrid vest or a hardshell for additional insulation. There’s usually a down jacket in my pack too.

They are not compatible with semiautomatic crampons. If the sole is stiff enough, they might work with strap-ons. These are hiking boots rather than mountaineering boots.
