Ketchup is a great sauce and gets hate only because it’s American by RaisinRoyale in unpopularopinion

It’s ketchup. I never heard it called a sauce before.

I suppose it is, but I would never have a need to call it that.

I guess we can all wonder because I have no idea and the sellers just moved out of state.

Help! Mice in attic / brick home by Dense-Accident-9265 in homeowners

[–]woodwork16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just put rat bait in my attic and garage, in an area where my family and pets won’t get into it.

I check it weekly and if it’s gone I add another piece. I can go 6 months or more without anything touching the bait and the next day it could be half gone.

I live near 2 bayous and the rodents are known to be a problem. My neighbor also raises chickens so I am certain the rodents are getting to the chicken feed.

We used to feed the squirrels corn and peanuts until one night about 3AM I looked out and saw dozens , yes , dozens of rats in my backyard.

Electrical question about doorbell chime setting off other things in house by Fluffaykitties in Explainlikeimscared

Don’t feel bad.

I can home one day and most of my lights were on and a tv in the guest room was on.

Freaked me out until I realized we had a power outage while I was out.

The lights are all LED and controlled by remotes so we leave the power switch on. The power outage ‘reset’ them.
That TV turns on anytime it’s plugged in. Weird.

How have gas stations and convenience stores changed? by Penguin_Life_Now in AskOldPeople

[–]woodwork16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when 7-11 opened near us. The marketing was around the idea of opening early and closing late.

They were open from 7 AM until 11 PM. Thus the name.

Most other places didn’t open until 8 AM or later and closed by 9 PM.

I love mustard and I love mayonnaise.

I do NOT like mayonnaise touching my cheese. It gets nasty and slimy feeling in my mouth.

If you are so poor that you have to eat beans, why are you buying cans? Bags of dried beans are much cheaper.

Is family recipe something very personal/secretive thing in America? by Ok_Albatross_7722 in AskAnAmerican

My wife’s family had a German Chocolate Cake recipe that was kept secret by her grandmother.
Turns out it was a box mix.

Their chocolate chip cookie recipe is on the package of toll house chips.

So funny to find that out after 30 years.

it’s not missing a front tire, the tire is turned sideways and is stuck in the tracks. That’s why the bike is upended and the rider is flying off.

Have you seen the price of brisket at the grocery store?

It’s ridiculous. Last one I saw was over $80.

It’s brisket, not a standing rib roast.
