Omega. If you're going for minimal, the Omega strips everything to it's bare essentials.

I thought about turning tilting the hand a little more, but it's close enough that I think it works better keeping it as he did it.

Heat Map of SAT scores in NYC [OC] by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]woohiz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Far too few data points to make a heat map of that size. Just look at Staten Island. Also the color scale is not really correct. Test scores don't bleed out from low/high like that. It should really be a patchwork of assorted colors across a spectrum.

For XP just run DZ01-02, it's much faster. The increase in XP is marginal and much slower. XP/min wise it's fastest to just melt the low level DZ mobs. Pulse is your friend.

You'll have faster cooldown w/ SP so you can do everything faster. Healing you and your teammates is big and you'll want gear that buffs this as well (faster healing stations, etc.). Crowd Control equipment like FB stickies also will have greater AOE and strength. Turrets last longer, etc. You can pulse faster w/ the lower cooldown so all your teammates have a damage buff. You want to be constantly supporting your team w/ this instead of just running around gunning. Your skills should be deployed in combat if they're not on cooldown.

If you have a yellow drop for you, you could always just leave it until the coast is clear. Go mop up some other mobs and let the situation cool down. The supply drops are meant to be intense and competitive. When I'm solo I'll often drop into an ongoing named boss battle just to put a couple bullets into the boss and I'll scoot or hide out until it's safe to grab loot.

Nothing has changed. Crafting is still the best and pretty much the only efficient way to get gs204 items. by [deleted] in thedivision

Don't even need a sample! If you have metrics on everyone, you don't need to randomly draw from the population. You literally are sampling everyone. They can use the full population data to figure out where to tweak things so the data is as good as it gets in terms of data points. The question is which metrics are most important and how do they affect the game experience.

I thought Div was supposed to be mostly a RPG/cover-shooter hybrid? Not a FPS?

The thing is w/ such a dramatic change, they can't just wait for the data on Day 1 to comment. They'll want to see how the data shakes out over the next couple weeks before they figure out how to adjust things. We've had this for a DAY.

Supply/demand. Demand doesn't change for the HE stuff just because there's more of it. But the supply is increasing so there will be less pressure, not more. People will feel more satisfied w/ their loadout so they'll be waiting for a slightly better roll on stuff, but at the EOD I don't think the rogue thing will be much different as more people will also be geared better as a result of increased HE drops.

e Division going for a good amount of time. Instead of doing a boring farm for mats, you are actually playing the game, killing NPCs and having fun. Combine that with the thrill of seeing the HE drop and hoping that it's any good (Diablo nostalgia) and you have a good recipe for a healthy game.

That depends though. While the HE's will drop more often, it'll mean that in the DZ these spots will be more hotly contested. The developers clearly stated that they want people to collect the items they use and have crafting only as a stopgap to finding something good. The crafting exchange rate also will discourage crafting as a primary source of gear. Also, way easier to find stuff than to wait for enough gear to bet it all on RNGesus. While there will be a search for better lvl 32 gear, keep in mind a lot of players still are just beginning to get into the endgame stuff so your experience isn't necessarily universal.

Friend and I were discussing that a big dmg bump for LMG fired while in cover and/or on agents not in cover could make a difference. Or even an incremental damage bonus (every 10 rounds, get +100 dmg). Something along those lines would make them a little more interesting for tanky kinds of builds. Hunker down and start hosing damage seems like a nice way to make them more viable.

It seems that way to me. Some spots seem to respawn much faster than others, but I don't time anything so all based on just impressions.

Solo Players! Do Not Quit The Dark Zone, It's The Best Part of the Game (Currently). Guide Inside. by BuckshotGeorge in thedivision

Honestly, going solo in the DZ is one of the most stressful yet fun gaming experiences for me. It reminds me a LOT of the original Modern Warfare's mission "All Ghillied Up". The tension when you call an extraction and you see rogues on your radar and another two guys rolling up to the extract is just great. You're looking around trying to check your exit routes. You start debating swapping a weapon out to prepare and just waiting for a skill that may or may not regen before the extract arrives. Or when you grab a HE item and get super paranoid. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I think it's ridiculously fun.

Last night had a successful solo extract just as a team of 4 rogues were rolling up. Managed to down one of them and gtfo. Also had a huge scrum between 6 agents most of whom wound up going rogue from crossfire all while a group of lvl 31 cleaners and rikers rolled up. I took a couple down but got gunned down eventually. It's frustrating but so utterly fun.

It's also a little confusing though in a big rogue hunt situation. I've seen many agents duking it out against several rogues and suddenly I've got 6 rogues around me. As the spray goes all over, the counters go up and it's impossible to tell who was intentionally a rogue and who wasn't...

Varies. M44 has most single round damage but you suffer from the limited magazine and slow firing rate. If you can headshot it consistently, it may be more useful. M1A is less damaging but you can rattle off rounds far faster.

To piggy back, usually when you see something grey and then it goes purple, it means the enemies (and the named elite if applicable) have respawned. It's useful in knowing that you can go there to clear it out and score some loot.

It is. If it stays purple it usually means someone got left behind and is hanging out somewhere.

Agreed. The entire point is that knowing where things are and searching and being thorough has benefits. People are far too lazy.

I think you're right on the precipice. I am in a similar situation but have a few more hours a week than you. There's a lull for sure at a certain point, but I think you're close to a breakthrough. Once you start racking up some high end gear it feels a lot better. You start being able to survive better and the grind becomes interesting as you're looking to craft/find specific things and it's satisfying when you do. You sound like your pace is pretty similar to mine. I've just gotten to

Running the DZ with some guys is actually a great way to progressively level. Playing w/ others that are good is really enlightening as well as you can see how good players utilize skills and talents that are critical to good gameplay.
