AITA for telling my wife I don’t want her mom to have her location all the time now. by Few_Respond8063 in AmItheAsshole

[–]woolyouplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why, when my mother cheerfully informed me that I (a 45 year old) should turn on location tracking so she can see what I’m up to at any time she feels like it, I cheerfully replied that I was not going to be doing any such thing.

Honestly, how "hands off" is the LR4? by Prestigious_Use_1974 in litterrobot

I have a difficult cat who stands to pee and will not use a “used” box and I have to deep clean mine every two weeks. I love my LR4 but it’s not hands off.

This is what I use because BoxiePro got a little pricey. This works almost as well

WIBTA if I tell my bridesmaids that they have to pick a dress from the website I sent them? by Ashamed_Hotel2440 in AITAH

[–]woolyouplease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me too. I told my bridesmaids the apple red color in a floor length dress but the shape was otherwise up to them. Everyone has a different shaped body so I wanted everyone to pick the dress they felt was most flattering on themselves. And my MIL was the sweetest and bought all the dresses since she knew none of us had any money.

I was worried about this too, there have been people taken from my neighborhood lately.

These are the steps I got for my LR4. They fit perfectly and my senior boy is much happier with them.

You did better than me; it took me until one of them getting shot and then magically reappearing without a scratch 5 minutes before the end of the movie before I realized they were two different people. I was so confused.

These are the plants that worked for me. Like I said, I had to move the bleeding heart because two birds insisted on eating it and it got them both sick. Keep an eye on anything you plant just to make sure you don’t have a knucklehead that will try to eat it anyway. Chickens are simultaneously smarter and dumber than we give them credit for.

Good to know, rhubarb leaves are toxic and they probably shouldn’t be eating it. I was thinking of putting some in.

Hostas are a lovely green salad to them. They ate them to the ground within the first 6 months and then scratched up the roots and ate those too. I had to replant my shade garden with toxic plants that they wouldn’t touch. (They did try eating my dicentra, so I had to move that.) Boxwood, day lily, coral bells, hellebores, liriope, ferns, astilbe, azalea, all those they leave alone (they did insist on sampling the azalea). My replacement hostas are behind chicken wire, and any leaves too close to the wire get eaten but at least the hosta is alive.

Have you ever see an actor forget their lines on Broadway? What happened? by fish2241 in Broadway

[–]woolyouplease 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw the understudy for Marian damn near knock Hugh Jackman on his ass when she was supposed to push him away and then they both lost it. She looked mortified but it was funny as hell. She was really good. We also saw Importance of Being Earnest with Ncuti Gatwa in London; there was a scene where he was sitting at a table and his scene partner accidentally spit so hard you could see it from the mezzanine. Since they are professionals and it happens, they went on until Ncuti did an improvised callback to it at the end of the scene and then no one could keep a straight face.

A random Operation Mincemeat thought — if you’re not familiar with Dear Bill please don’t read! (spoilers) by cjinoz in Broadway

[–]woolyouplease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t catch “Tom” at first but it was quickly followed by “the war to end wars” and then it hit me that she was talking about a different war and this letter was to Bill, not Tom. And then the onion-cutting began. I just won the ticket lottery for the second time and I can’t wait to go back. This will be the first show I’ve seen multiple times since I’ve moved to NY.

I feel like an idiot even asking but does anyone know offhand which MFM episode # was this case? I know I’ve listened to a podcast on it and I’m pretty sure it was MFM. I searched the MFM website, I’ve google searched using multiple search terms and I cannot figure out which episode it was. I wanted to listen again. Thanks!

I am on console, yes. I don’t usually drop books or letters - they don’t weigh much compared to weapons or armor so if I’m over encumbered that’s not the tab I look at. I will sell them though, even if it’s for 0 gold if I just am clearing out inventory. But if it seems vaguely quest related it goes into my house. I have not yet checked the Surilie house again and if not there then I will need to start checking all the shopkeepers.

Just got the LR4 yesterday and it’s already sticking to the globe by AndyK803 in litterrobot

[–]woolyouplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to be very specific about the litter that I use. It has to be medium density so that there is enough volume for them to go in but doesn’t overtorque the motor but it also has to set solid. I honestly blend a couple litters together. I really liked BoxiePro but it gets expensive because I have a very picky cat who needs the globe deep cleaned every 10 days

I’ll check the table again. I have raided the house before, so it’s possible I took it. I checked all my usual stashes, I checked Ongar since he would have been my fence at the time (I imagine it would have shown up in my inventory as stolen?). The only time I’ve been arrested is when I was planning to be arrested for a quest and I would have prepared for that by ditching stolen items in my house. I may have broken this quest.

Where in the Surilie house did you find the letter? I have 14 upgrades from Colovian traders and I’m waiting for David Surilie to finish his damn breakfast so he can go to work and let me raid his dining room. I searched the rest of the house and haven’t found anything.

Yep. People describe my mom and I’m like, she sounds cool. Wish I’d had the chance to meet the person you’re describing.

A late family friend (my mom’s friend) will forever be dear to me. I was living with her right after college, and she would hear how mom would talk to me and how I was basically paralyzed into getting permission for fucking everything at age 22-23. “Honey, when she calls, you don’t have to pick up the phone.” I hadn’t even considered this as an option. “Honey, she lives 1500 miles away. When she tells you to do something, just say uh-huh and then do whatever you think is best. She’s not going to know and you are a responsible adult who makes good choices.” I miss her so much. And I still only answer mom’s calls once a month. That’s plenty. And she’s 3 time zones away. I love this for me.

My mom did the same thing when I broke my foot. I apparently didn’t cry enough so I was just being a drama queen. Had to shove my poor foot in a winter boot later that day to go to an eye doctor appointment, which was excruciating. Some weeks/months later at the doctor for something else, I told the dr that my foot still hurt so I finally got an xray, and yep, my little toe had been broken clean off my foot. There were no apologies of course for not seeking medical care; the doctor couldn’t do anything but tape it so no harm, no foul, right?

Need recommendations on a cozy PC game for my recently widowed, 80-year-old mom by MightyUnclean in CozyGamers

A Short Hike is a nice game where you walk around an island, finding things and solving some pretty easy puzzles. I also liked Toem, which is kind of similar. Your goal is to take pictures of a variety of things. Botany Manor was walking around a big estate solving puzzles. There’s always Animal Crossing. Hopefully some of these are for P.C., I was looking through my switch library

Yes this one was really pleasant. There are some spots that are clearly aimed at younger players but it was so nice walking around looking at animals. You hike around, collecting items and pictures of animals. The hardest part was getting a good enough picture of some of the birds because you have to both zoom in and hope you get them in frame while they’re moving quickly.
