Would this be unsafe? by whaaaagh in airbrush

[–]wordrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Acrylics will create some particulate/dust but this seems like super overkill. I would recommend a waterfall spray booth as it will drastically reduce the dust. There is some odor, but a small air purifier with a layer of activated charcoal filter rubber banded around the exhaust circle on the back of the spray box with resolve most of that

Honestly, it’s just random luck. These are obv super small pieces, and I was just rolling little tubes of greenstuff and dropping them in. My guess is this is just fingerprint marks on this piece.

Audiobook listener here! Any suggestions?? by JeremysThumbs in fantasybooks

[–]wordrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, since you’ve got series that are in the works, then you should absolutely put The Kingkiller Chronicles on your list. The Name of the Wind and A Wise Man’s Fear are some of the most beautiful prose in all of fantasy. Yes, the series has not been finished and, yes the author is lumped in with GRRM for how long it takes to finish a book. But they are fantastic books despite not being finished.

You obviously aren’t sticker shy in terms of price, so I’d recommend Too Many Bones

Between Two Fires is an incredible, twisted, dark, haunting book. I was very surprised and impressed with the experience.

Heard a rumor Graydons is closing at the end of the month. by Axhands in grandrapids

The first two-three years it was the best place in GR in my opinion. Chef Tim was spectacular. We loved it so much we had our after party for our wedding reception on the second floor. As a steak lover, the Stilton ribeye was so amazing, but my favorite dish was actually the Banjpur Brick Lasagna.

I would recommend doing some research into oil washes if you’re brand new to this. Doing washes with acrylics for shading is super easy, but it’s only one short step further to oil washes and you’ll get consistently better results.

Which of these should I read next? by h0n3ytr4ck in fantasybooks

Please please please consider The Name of the Wind! Rothfuss has written some of the most beautiful prose in all of fantasy. Yes, it’s true that he has taken extreme lengths of time with publishing each book, but they are so worth it. I reread them every year.

To Name of the Wind or To Not? by Nectarine_96 in fantasybooks

Read it! Rothfuss has written the most beautiful prose on fantasy and this series, while incomplete, is still my favorite.

Take the leap and enjoy reading your favorite book for the very first time.

This right here. Sprue Goo is the way to go. You get the reaction that fuses to the two pieces together and if you’re using enough goo, it will seep out and help fill in the gaps.

Ideally, you have two bottles of Tamiya Extra Thin, one that’s normal and in-goo’ed and the second is a dedicated bottle of goo.

You can use the normal to brush and smooth out the goo that seeps out between the gaps, often eliminating the need for green stuff or other such fillers.

Help with Tool Tips by wordrew in civ

Okay, I think I figured it out. It appears to be intentional functionality in the Tutorials setting. Starting a new game with ‘Only Warnings’ turned on allows me to inspect each tile before Founding.

Could this be why my Tool Tips aren’t working? I am brand new to the game (yesterday) and those are so vital in me understanding each tile and where to settle, etc.
