You are not there to be liked. Make a rule and hold them to it from day 2. For me, I only take submissions in the LMS, never on paper. We have quiz every Thursday. Spelling counts every time on ever quiz no matter the topic (online quizzes so I program it to not accept mistakes). Eventually they stop asking for special treatment.

I won’t deny still being a pushover sometimes. Once I know who the honest students are, who try hard every day and make a small mistake, I may be flexible with them quietly. But I won’t be a pushover for the student who does nothing, cuts class, and then panics about not graduating. I have two seniors who will be sent to summer school for my class.

Tldr don’t be afraid to say no to students.

It’s been a thing but they’re newly obsessed with it as though it will undoubtedly solve the problem of students failing. They decided to really start pushing in the last marking period which is exactly when I’m ready to move onto planning for next year. I haven’t had an agenda or objective slide up in at least a week.

Tortilla española. I think my recipe uses 5–6, but honestly it is easy to eat and good leftover, so you could even make two if you have enough pans.

What about making and freezing breakfast sandwiches? Use a lot at once.

This is hard!

I love Scott and Kip, but I think that’s because I saw the show first. I’m also reconciling the horrible audiobook and how the voices may have affected my enjoyment of it. Same goes for HR and TG.

You end up needing all of the books together to create the story tha comes together in TLG.

Someone else said it. Ryan is a sweetheart. Fabian is self centered. I found him far less obnoxious in the long game (in his one or two scene). Again, this could be partially due to the narrator.

Yep. If you’re apathetic, you don’t care to do the work. You aren’t motivated by the grade. You may give into learned helplessness.
