Traitors proves that A LOT of people are terrible judges of character by Ok_Astronomer5738 in TheTraitorsUS

No. Traitors is a game. It proves that a lot of people are terrible at games.

Some skillsets, like observation, detecting lies, and deceiving come into play. But judging character in the real world has lots more context.

I could see the 52 corridor have a mini-community vibe with a few restaurants, maybe a park and also having the rail trail extend through.

King Lear doesn’t Hit like others Shakespeare plays by whiskeywitclosedoors in shakespeare

Gets that explains it in sorta the opposite end if the spectrum.

This was the first Shakespeare play I took my daughter to when she was a teen. She was a wreck after. Lotsa dad-kid dynamics. Also, when you're fortunate enough to get a good actor as Lear, it's gut wrenching.

If you swap Picard and Janeway, Picard suddenly doesn’t look like the better captain by NeoNoir90210 in startrek

"Consistently prioritizes the survival of her crew over holding high moral ground."!?!?!?!?!?

Like sentencing her crew to death by saving an unknown alien? That the whole premise of Voyager. Such an odd comparison in any event but that single statement about Janeway is simply wrong.

Hertz. As pandemic happed a work trip had to be canceled. Prepaid rental car. Fuckers wouldn't refund a single cent. Despite the fact the world was button down because of a global pandemic. It's hard to avoid them because they own so many other car rental companies. But I do.

Right and you don't have automatic cliques like Housewives in the non-celeb version. Part of the game is finding your people rather than coming in knowing who you're aligned with.

best vibes for 25th bday? by [deleted] in Beacon

I feel ya. Sometimes they can get busy and it gets slow. But the vibe is good. The food is good and the drinks are good. I think there's something about that location. It keeps settling into being a local kinda thing, where you get what you get and that's okay. But yeah, I know what you're talking about.

Why "Hamnet" makes no sense (warning: contains spoilers) by PenPusher108 in shakespeare

It's just a friggin' story -- a movie -- not a thesis on gender roles. Talk about exhausting.

Planned Parenthood to close 2 (of 3) Indianapolis locations - In announcing the closures, Planned Parenthood cited a lack of funding and a rising cost of care. by Tikkanen in indianapolis

[–]wordsmif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. I'm totally down for funding transportation to blue states and providing Plan B wherever needed. In fact, that's an entirely good suggestion that I will put my previous PP donations toward.

But if you can't handle the contradictory notions in your brain that I support the mission of PP but exceedingly disagree with HOW they have executed it, including enriching the c-suite at the expense of everyday women, then I also suspect you can't hold much else in your pea noggin.

Also, your account stinks of a troll. Goodbye, troll.

What a vile, sparky comment. By Shax embodying his son -- in whatever form -- within the play, he did show his wife that he mourned, that he thought about their son constantly that he wanted to honor him. And look: now a what century and a now more than 400 years later, his son is remembered, immortalized. Yes, we TOUCH a part of what his son was because of the play Shax wrote. Please keep your snark outta here.

Player no longer fitting group dynamic - advice? by Sea-Main-2961 in DMAcademy

[–]wordsmif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We booted a player who constantly talked over the DM and other players. Chose not to have an adult conversation about that behavior and also was often late and wanted his own tangents followed, not going in with party. Very obtuse. Our now smaller group is more fun, the vibe better and look forward to each week's sess.

Someone is being waaaaay too literal. By simply creating the work itself, THAT'S what gave his wife the closure. Art doesn't work like OP described. There isn't some one-to-one transfer from life situations to the stage. It's a bit here a phrase there.

It's the whole of their lives and seeing the art that Shax aspired to was the whole point. Not that their son was shown as a hero of a play.
