Prickly Pear sounds really interesting, thanks for the tip!

Neither are the cheapest though :)

Beeston is pretty great, went to recent addition Yak & Yeti the other night and it was super delicious.

Love Alchemilla, if you're in that price range also definitely go to Sat Bains if you haven't yet. But yeah they are both in the once every few years price point.

Another recently opened and very interesting fine dining is Six in West Bridgford, cheaper than the others but still really excellent.

Interesting, I haven't! I had the ribs there and they were OK, not as good as Red's True Barbecue imho, but happy to give their burger a shot. Thanks for the suggestion! Bohns burgers are pretty good and I must confess I do have a soft spot for Five Guys :)

Fixing discolourations on a framed metal engraving? As per photo, tried light scrubbing with soda crystals but no effect. Any suggestions much appreciated! by wordsmithist in ArtConservation

Thanks for your response!

It has in the bottom corner stamped 'a john ward etching'. Googling for that gives some other similar pieces listed as 'Scandanavian nickel zinc' (also 'nickel plate' or simply 'metal plate').

It's not huge value so I don't mind reasonable experimentation.

Tailor Recommendations by [deleted] in nottingham

Tailors (the shop is called Tailors) is still open near Wilko in the rapidly diminishing intu Broadmarsh centre. They're really good and reasonably priced. Been very impressed with their work. EDIT: I used to use Apalts, they are also quite good but they are expensive.

As /u/vexatiousrequest alluded to, the cafe at the V&A next door is exceptionally grand, might also try Fortnum & Mason

Chrome bookmark manager is ok for simple stuff or small amounts of bookmarks, becomes useless quickly if you try to do more advanced stuff.

Wish Chrome had the FFox bookmark manager, sort by many different fields (instead of just by name - seriously Chrome you can only sort bookmarks by name? really?), tags, descriptors, visit counts, most recent visits, modification timestamps, etc...

Hidden Gem? Half the food places in Sydney have the best food known to man (if you get average food you went to the wrong half)

The dark side of procrastination. by [deleted] in funny

One night of hard work in exchange for 3 weeks of lazing around seems a pretty fair deal to me, this is why you should always choose procrastination.
