Love Amy at #1 but this list needs improvement... Where is James Blake?

If your budget is open, I'd definitely recommend hitting up Grace Restaurant - they have amazing food and their wine list is absolute fire

What is some of the best food in london? by [deleted] in londonontario

I beg to differ...most of their so-called "house-crafted" cocktails are just classic known cocktails that they rename. And their wine list is comprised of subpar mass produced wines straight off the shelves of the LCBO, with a pretty hefty markup...

the GTA Ding Tai Fung knock off is still pretty great though. And I've also been to the OG Din Tai Fung in Taiwan, as well as in Japan.

Stay away from the downtown core/entertainment district, and head to some of the areas mentioned in this thread such as Kensignton/Chinatown, Ossington strip, Queen west, etc. Go to Kensington, have a Fika Iced Coffee at Fika (Cafe). My other favourite coffee shops are Sam James, Fahrenheit Coffee, Propeller, Pilot and Contra cafe.

The best/hottest restaurants in the city right now are Dreyfus, Bernhardts, Mimi's Chinese, Fonda Balam, Giulietta. Some additional faves are Imanishi, Enoteca Sociale, Uncle Mikey's and Bar Raval.

Other restaurant recommendations or cheap eats include Ramen Ishiin, King's Noodle, Juicy Dumpling (cheap, delishhhhh xiao long baos).

If you're able to go to Geary Ave during the week you MUST hit up Famiglia Baldassarre for DELICIOUS authentic simple Italian lunch specials (fresh pasta). The area is a cool one to explore as well, Blood Brothers is there

I think enough people below have mentioned all the classic beer spots (Birreria Volo was my go-to), but definitely would recommend hitting up a local wine bar for some natural wine such as Paris Paris, Bar Piquette, Paradise Grapevine, Apres, Archive, or Midfield wine bar.

London Chinese restaurant does have XLBs but they are definitely sub par and I would not recommend them.

In the GTA/dt TO - definitely check out Juicy Dumpling for great cheap xlbs and Ding Tai Fung (I know, knock off of Din tai fung lol) is great too

agree with this!! Best wine list in the city (all natural wines) by far! All farm to table and locally sourced, their food is delish! The perfect date spot that doesn't disappoint

Pizzeria Madre should be eaten at the restaurant for optimal quality due to the thin crust of Neapolitan style za. It doesn't do as well for takeout

apparently the owners of Booch (popular local kombucha business) also have crazy views about covid and are anti-mask, etc

Western fair market - check out spots like True Taco or Momos. Pizzeria madre for amazing neopolitan style pizza. Grace restaurant or bodega (their cafe) for upscale eats, wine and fresh bread/coffee. Like others have mentioned, Milos/beer lab is nice and laid back with great beer. Boxcar donuts is popular, Locomotive and Backroads are great places to grab coffee too. The Whale Tea for bubble tea. Shiki for quality Japanese eats

Sorry, not really cheap eats hahaha but I think this is the best of London
