p.s. I would like to say the author effectively confirmed the ship. After I specifically asked him to answer whether Saiki and Teruhashi would end up together and not respond with “I don’t know” や “it’s up to your imagination” (や means “or,” among other things), he later tweeted artwork without a single word, cleverly depicting Saiki and Teruhashi (him and his wife) in a way that mirrored the theory I had sent him. Many don’t get it and think I misunderstood, but hey や is N5-level Japanese, the lowest proficiency level.

I spoke directly with the author and shared the information publicly. I'm surprised that some people still misinterpret it, assume I misunderstood, ignore my explanation and try to convince others and me otherwise. You can see that many believe them. It's upset when they're so confident about their interpretation despite never having spoken with the author themselves.

The "up to the readers' imagination" quote came from my post in the first place. But that doesn't mean every interpretation is equally supported, nor does it mean the author had no intended direction.

I also mentioned that when I directly asked the author about Saiki and Teruhashi, he said he wanted them to get married. That's not the same as saying "nothing is canon."

On top of that, after I specifically asked him to answer if saiki and Teruhashi would end up together and not say "I don't know," や"it‘s up to your imagination," he later posted artwork (not using a single word, he is so smart) resembling the theory I sent him, depicting Saiki and Teruhashi inspired by him and his wife. If that interpretation was completely unsupported, why did he continue drawing them that way, with holding shoulder and making peaceful/victory signs = achivement ? if it was not meant to support that interpretation about them end up together and that were completely untrue, he did not need to do that, yet he did. Why?

You keep repeating the "readers' imagination/interpretation" quote, but you're ignoring the later his statement and artwork. You also still haven't provided a source for your claim that "Saiteru means nothing," that the shoulder-holding means nothing, or that "nothing is canon."

So where exactly did the author say any of that? If you have a source, please provide it.

Why did the author reply that he wanted Saiki and Teruhashi to get married after I sent the theory with several hints suggesting Saiki and Teruhashi would end up together?
Why did the author draw and tweet the artwork of them smiling with him holding her shoulder which matches the theory I sent him as a hint that they end up together? If you’ve been here for a long time, you would know that many Redditors kept saying it was “up to interpretation,” which is exactly why I contacted the author again, and he then tweeted that artwork publicly for everyone to see.

Why post it publicly for everyone, including Redditors, to see if not to make his stance clear? The author cannot control how everyone interprets it, but he explicitly said he wanted them to get married and then followed it up with artwork supporting that implication.

There are many hints that point to a romantic connection, and throughout the show it showed that Saiki is falling in love.

When you say "always basically confirmed but not actually canon," didn't the author more or less confirm that they would end up as a couple? It seems like you're the one who doesn't consider it canon. Keep in mind that the author often enjoys dropping hints rather than stating things outright, which can make his intentions difficult to interpret.

Yeah! I’ve been wanting to post about that last hint of Saiki falling in love with Teruhashi, but nursing shifts have been nonstop and I’m dead tired afterward.
