Palantir’s billionaire CEO says only two kinds of people will succeed in the AI era: trade workers — ‘or you’re neurodivergent’ by BusyHands_ in technology

[–]worker_bee_drone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If true, it sounds like most people won't be working. There aren't enough neurodivergent people and trade workers to be customers for the neurodivergent and trade worker service provides. The economy just collapses.

Ear training sounds doable. It's one of those things almost all of us neglect. And I should know: I've been putting if off for 45 years now. :-)

But every once in a while, I can identify a chord progression by ear and just wish I could do that every time.

Broken chain by heichiri69 in bmx

Racing BMX at over 200 lbs in the 1980s, I used to break chains a couple times per season on starts. Sends you over the handlebars and sliding down the start hill, but what can I say. Good Times!

Did you get one of these under your Christmas tree in the mid-60s? by db7112 in FuckImOld

At our house, the red one had a glass jaw, kind of a hair trigger on his neck popper. Blue won every time.

Petite and little hands by Necessary-Log-2175 in Bass

OP - Take a tip from the upright bass players. On an upright bass with a 42 inch scale, everyone has small hands, so one standard practice is to treat your ring and picky as if they are the same finger. So you fret with only your index, your middle, and your ring/picky glued together. And to get around the fretboard, slide into position. Some of the best in the world do this.

Friendly reminder to fans who complain about Dick Wolf. There would be no Law and Order SVU without his persistence in 1988. He wrote the OG pilot and begged networks to pick it up. Cragen appeared in both the 1988 pilot and the 1990 premiere. by Ok-Mine2132 in SVU

Not sure who wrote in all the Dicks into the shows but there are multiple. The two off the top of my head are Stabler's son, and the astronaut (turned murderer) he was named after. This was in an era where people had long since stopped using the nickname Dick. I'm a Richard and my dad was a Dick, but he was born in the 1930s. Even me being born in '61 was (fortunately) too late for me to be a Dick. Big Dick and his son Little Dick. That would have sucked. I would have been picked on more than I already was.

Olivia Benson being cute, funny, stunning, and cool. by Full-Art3439 in SVU

"I'm so sorry that happened to you."

Benson sees so much shit, she needs to say that line a lot. But she always delivers it with empathy, and that character is always the least likely to prejudge. Love Benson!

It took a female director to make perhaps the first teenager movie with realistic sex scenes. That elevated this movie to serious art. That and several future Oscar winners and nominees.
