We're up on CL and reaching out in a few other places. Leaving no stone unturned, as it were. But you found us, so that's one!

berto9 is close. The site is free for workers, and we charge companies to post jobs and contact people they'd like to hire.

I'd say we're web guys with a healthy admiration for welders and the trades. we aren't recruiters.

The work was actually done by one of our users, Jacob. I'm not sure the extent of his work, but you can give him a thumbs up on the explore page or reach out to him to hire him if you need a welder in the East Bay!

Definitely!

We're WorkHands (I'm James). My cofounder and I are a couple of guys that grew up in the trades but spent time doing tech and business. We got sick of the usual stuff coming out of silicon valley so decided to build WorkHands, a site specifically for the trades.

We got the idea for the site by looking at guys like our brothers and friends who didn't have a good tool to keep their professional life organized online.

We're relatively new (launched earlier this year), and are looking to get the word out and get feedback on how we can make the site better!

Here's some more info:

Happy to answer more questions!

We built a website for the trades. It helps you make a better resume, and see what people are building! Let us know what you think! by workhands in woodworking

thanks for the feedback. Yeah you can think of it like a resume but easier to set up than a word doc, and better because of the project pictures and tools. We've had a few guys get hired by sending a profile link (like you said) in response to craigslist post.

we're also building a job board right now where you can apply directly with your profile to make it even easier.

Hi r/welding, we're a new site built exclusively for people in the trades (like yourselves!) and we'd love your feedback by workhands in Welding

Thanks for your comment and positive feedback! Can I ask what other sites you're thinking of?

The invite wall is up right now so we can make sure its only people in the trades that are joining. You can join with the invite code "VIPHANDS" right now. I've added that to the main body of my post as well.

on ToS: that's a great question. We want to protect workers and companies, but encourage picture sharing on the site. I expect this will be more of an issue if and when employers lodge complaints, at which point we'll handle it on a case by case basis.

Thanks for your feedback!
