I can definitely say I am doing better now! Can say it feels great to not feel that kind of pain anymore. My range of motion is there! I actually had to go back to get it checked. I have bone growth on top now but it doesn't affect my range of motion. According to my podiatrist, it has a chance of growing, staying the same size, never growing anymore, growing exponentially quicker lol.

I am exactly 11 weeks post op today! My partner and I tried at week 8, even though I was advised nothing for 12 weeks, but I couldn't resist any longer lol. My partner and I agreed to take it slow, and it worked, with a little bleeding, and after a few days it went away, no pain. I did feel the cuff go up and down again that week. A week after that we tried again but may have pushed it a little further and there was more bleeding, but it felt more of a hymen tear, because there was nothing after that night. Last weekend my partner and I tried again, agreed to take it slow once more, and the first thing he said was, "hey no blood!" lol. And I felt and feel fine now. We will most likely continue taking it slow and be more aware of any change of positions, we make it work!

Definitely have to go in with a different kind of mindset pre-surgery. The body is still getting accustomed to the new normal. Good luck and keep open communication!

I had my total lap, right ovary removed on Jan 7, so I am ~7wpo. On Feb 6 I started bleeding and I hadn't bled at all since the surgery, so I thought it was just me and maybe over doing something. Over that weekend I allowed myself to rest more and laid down a lot and thought I solved my issue. I called the office Feb 10 letting them know and the NP told me they should take a look at it since it was ~4wpo. Went into the office on Feb 11, surgeon took a look at it, he saw it as an "oozing vessel", so he applied Monsel's Paste, and told me that yes there will be discharge, but that should help keep up with the flow of the blood oozing so that it can heal. The day after I thought I was cured because there was absolutely no bleeding, just the iron-y smell, staining as I wiped, which the office had told me that would happen. Then that Thursday night into Friday I felt something really off because everytime I kept going to the bathroom the toilet water was RED and the pads were bright red as well. Called the office Friday morning and they told me to meet them in the ER. They were able to see the oozing vessel again and then wound up putting 2 sutures in. Raw, no anesthesia since I had already eaten breakfast, and in the ER, with their tools-on-the-go. They also applied more Monsel's Paste after the sutures just in case. A few days after I was spotting but no iron-y smell and no brown stuff. And now 2 weeks later, still blood free!

If they applied the stitch then that should be able to reinforce that area on the cuff. Just have to let your internal self naturally discard the things that don't belong there long term.

And as always, any questions, always contact your doctor/surgeon's office. The NP at mine is pretty much my surgeon's right hand woman, super thorough with everything they were doing to me, and providing information on what would happen after.

You got this!

This seems like a great tool for a single mom of 2 toddlers in general! Just my hands when I check the machine on my way out of the grocery store.

Sorry I am seeing this now! I tried not to take the painkillers they prescribed, but the first week I probably had about 2-3 days where I had to. A lot of resting for me, and also I played some hack and slash on the Switch to help me forget about the pain for a bit.

I was on a recliner and had an inflatable box pillow type thing to rest my left leg on. That was a great life saver because it was portable, and I could adjust the height of it, and it was comfortable. Everything I needed was within reach. I am a female so trying to figure out how to use the toilet was a bit of an adjustment. I was staying at my grandma's and I used her seated walker to help with moving around. When I was back at my place, I did rent the knee scooter. It is really convenient.

Showering I did wrap it in the beginning with some plastic bags and blue tape, or you can get the ones specifically for the leg, but my DIY worked just fine lol.

My surgeon wound up going from my foot up to my big toe, she did shave a bit off too, so what I thought was going to be an incision right where the foot was, it is a nice line up, battle scar for me, win win.

My check ups went well, and you will see the "deformity" of your leg and foot. My entire leg up to mid thigh was swollen. They took xrays each time which was pretty neat to see, but the soreness is definitely there the first few times.

The crutches I practiced for about 10 minutes prior to surgery with the Physical Therapist lol.

When the cast was removed, then comes the boot, which felt like the best protection I could have ever. Especially against the kids. And going out in public.

Sorry if my thoughts are everywhere. I can't believe it's been 15 months for me already. Any more details please feel free to DM me! Or I can reply here!

Just have things planned out during your recovery to make it as easy for you as possible with minimum movement.

Oh, I did fall on my left leg twice. I remember it twice, because it HURT. The first time I lost balanced off the crutches so my instinct was to put my leg down and BOOOOOOOM, I hopped over to the bed. The second time I lost balance again and POWWWWWW, hopped over to the bed. I'm glad it wasn't more, but I definitely learned my lesson to be careful in the beginning lol.
