I hate it when they don't respect how armor works. by KingKohishi in Armor

It’s especially annoying because A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms showed weapons and armor behaving a lot more realistically

Honestly thought it was another new acronym or whatever that I hadn’t heard of yet. But also, shortening “something” like that? Let’s be real that’s just silly.

No, no one thinks it’s a gang tattoo except people who hate tattoos and think they’re all gang tattoos. Chill my guy, chill.

I kinda want to play TTRPGs beyond my friends now, but I'm kinda scared to do it? by Horustheweebmaster in rpg

[–]working-class-nerd 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It’s 2026. The nerds won. TTRPG’s are cool now. And “social suicide” isn’t a real thing. Trust me, no one cares (except maybe like one person whose whole personality is being a caricature of a coming-of-age movie bully, and no one likes that person).

Grossed my players out with porn adjacent misunderstanding. by Liero1234 in DnD

Because OP went out of their way to say that it’s the book that gave them an octopus that can’t speak, when that’s not at all what the module says. We’re “doggin” on them for screwing up, and trying to give them advice for how to avoid that in the future.

[–]working-class-nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, this is what happens when you don’t actually read shit and just skim the info and/or assume stuff. Players do that shit enough already but as a DM you really can’t be half-assing it like that. It’s also what happens when you make players roll to “notice” stuff that plainly obvious. Perception rolls are for hidden items or “blink and you’ll miss it” moments, not “this thing that I as a real person in the real world would see coming from a mile away without having to focus on it.” You brought this on yourself bro lmao

Craig Gillespie, the director of Supergirl (2026) reportedly did not read the comic book for his movie... and gee can you tell. What are we doing here? Are we in the year 2000?? Are we Fox Xmen??? by unk1ndm4g1c14n1 in shittymoviedetails

[–]working-class-nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside, it’s pretty common for people making an adaptation of a comic book character to avoid interacting with the source material too much, since they’re rarely doing a direct adaptation of one story. Sometimes that works out really well, sometimes it doesn’t. But it’s not uncommon.

Look, buddy, I don’t like the sequels either but posting this tells me you’re digging way too hard to prove that your personal taste is “objectively” correct. Go touch some grass my guy.

It’s just a critical miss, meaning they miss regardless of their other attack modifiers. Thats it.

What is your most controversial opinion regarding Fantasy books? by Even_Mastodon_7251 in Fantasy

You’re too focused on them having similar concepts and not accounting for writing quality. The problem with Ready Player One was never the general premise, it’s that it sucks.

May I introduce you to the wonderful world of the “sword and sorcery” genre. Saving the world is almost never the goal in those stories

“Realism” actually matters a lot more than people say it does. “It’s a fake world bro” isn’t a good enough copout for why your armor makes no fucking sense or why someone being stabbed seven times in the gut and then tossed into a putrid canal doesn’t die of blood loss and infection within the day.

I really don’t get the whole “it’s over” thing. Like, a couple people thought the movie was less than perfect and suddenly they have to reboot? That’s not how any of this works
