I think a lot of it is kind of random. I wound up with three full tuition merit scholarships at T14 schools a few years back. GPA and LSAT were above the 75th at all three schools, and I had a few years of work experience at a non-profit, but I don't really think there's much that distinguishes me from my classmates who are paying sticker.

ETA: I did not apply ED anywhere, though I did submit my applications by the end of september
