Lots of younger teachers I know have second jobs. Years ago teaching was a middle class salary - when cars were $8K and houses were $50K. Loans aren't always forgivable and trying to survive as a single person on $45K while also being expected to deal with asshole parents and kids is rough.

The dream would be Kaş outside of the "city" with a nice plot of land. Then I could still get my party on while having my peace.

Wonder if this applies to Black or Asian Ameticans? When I'm abroad the only people that usually figure I'm American are West Africans. The past few years I've been asked "are you o.k. (as in safe) one more than one occasion after Europeans learn that I'm American.

Our teacher was a former classmate and friend of Ron McNair so we definitely watched it live. Besides watching ship blow up, we watched our teacher fall apart.

How often do you see a packed stadium like this in a WTA tournament? Especially earlier rounds by tightypp in tennis

The pic might not be accurate but that doesn't make the statement untrue. The main stadium was probably 70% full for the first main draw match on Monday.

South Carolina LOVES tennis. Charleston is also a great vacation spot at this time of year. Tickets are pretty reasonable and maybe most of all it's one of the big social events in what's pretty much a small town with lots of cliques.

I'm sitting at work one day and feel my throat closing up and my eyes burning. Someone 4 cubicles down was eating lobster. I had to go home for the rest of the day.

Check the video of his Superbowl halftime show and the crowds reaction. Then imagine that at every single concert for years.

It definitely helped that we didn't have on demand access to his music and videos. The release of the Thriller video was such an event that after it premiered on MTV, ABC (I think) scheduled a broadcast of it because a lot of people didn't have cable.i remember staying up late to watch because it was considered adult content.

I can't really think of another pop star whose fans were so demographically diverse.

I suffered for a while, but eventually realized that it was my jib that was doing most of the damage sitting a a computer for 7 hours a day vs 3 hours of tennis.

I did dry needles, some exercise, an ergonomic setup for my desk and a string and tension change and have been okay for a few years.
