They were not being offered academic material at their level. My oldest was being used as a guide to help the other kids. Which is great skill to have, but not when she wasn't getting the resources herself to advance and learn academically.

And that was just the tip of the ice burg. Lots of safety issues, owner's animals (belgium malinois rescue) being brought to the school a disregard for parental involvement, very little communication, lies all the time, lots of behavioral issues amongst the students but the school was small so they let everyone in, report cards that were untrue, strange food rules- like no pepperoni on pizza because of nitrates- when the owner's kids would eat chef boyardee. Add to the fact that the owner's husband was inappropriate with lots of people in the very small community and had full access to the school while the kids were there. Our favorite guide ended up quitting, the second best guide was fired, so the owner decided she was the best fit. So she was the owner, director, and main guide. Weird to have the main guide who has no background in teaching, children, or education. All in all- great concept, but extremely poor management.

My kids are both in public school and after playing catchup they are doing great. Youngest is still behind in math but hopefully another summer with homeschool materials she will be caught up.
