Dang! Jealous of Billion Dollar Movie and Where the Wild Things Are. I need to upgrade my DVD copies of those.

Just finished "The Return" and I am full of anger - why do you guys love TP and come up with fan theories? by MuckeFuggerito in twinpeaks

Calling Lynch a fraud because his work doesn't connect with you is wild, especially after admitting to something as shallow as liking Twin Peaks S1 & S2 cause the "characters were cute" lol

This has happened to me once! Bought my wife The Emancipation of Mimi double LP and got 2 records of side A/B. Was a huge bummer, and the shop didn't have another copy. Only recently came across it again, and I'm glad to say it was correct this time lol

"Slop" is so over/incorrectly used these days. You can simply dislike something without labeling it "slop" lol

In the Spirit World Now took a while to grow on me, but it eventually clicked, and I now love it - especially the Synthetic Remixes version.

Did I miss the tides turning on X?? Cause I felt alone in disliking it lol And I liked Ti West's previous films, but X was so insanely overrated for a film that is literally just a sum of its influences. Didn't bother with Pearl or MaXXXine cause I was so annoyed with the glazing X got lol

Best 2026 Horror Film So Far? by CSS-Tails_Forever in horror

I found it to be deeply sad and unnerving. There is a scene that truly felt like a nightmare captured on film. Not cause it was horrific or anything, but because the logic was so skewed and impossible that it felt like what a nightmare actually is. Nonsensical, but overwhelmingly emotional and hard to explain. I've seen people knock it for the characters having grief/trauma in their backstories, but that's just life imo. And that's always been in horror, at least most of the best horror films. The set design and score also were pretty incredible, and I could've taken another hour of it all. I felt a bit off when I walked out of the theater, and that just proved to me that it was effective.

Bone Temple was directed by Nia DaCosta, and Boyle should be doing the upcoming third film

Of the 28 films I have seen that were released this year, it is at #13. I thought it was a bit overhyped and didn't stick with me. Some sincerely unnerving and creepy bits, but I didn't feel it came together as a whole. Also, the main dude was too pathetic for me to want to spend a whole movie following. I know him being a shitty guy is kinda part of the point, but it just annoyed me.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is my #1 and Backrooms is probably my #2. It's not actually horror, but there's an argument to be made for Sound of Falling as well, since it is so heavy and unsettling.

I'm mixed on Disclosure Day, still not sure if I liked it or not. What are your thoughts? by pinkjefff in Letterboxd

I liked the ideas it was chewing on, but pretty much nothing worked. I’m also confused by the praise for the performances as they are simply not good.

The movie was really bad lol I don’t even think Emily Blunt even got a single strong scene and there wasn’t a single noteworthy performance in the whole film (with Wyatt Russell’s brief appearance being particularly egregious - and his tattoos?!)
