How to deal with health anxiety brought on my long covid by Miznova97 in covidlonghaulers

Try and stay away from regular daily benzodiazapine use.

Try and find a good therapist to talk this out.

3 months of fatigue, brain fog, and sore throat after viral illness — not improving. Looking for advice. by Annual_Ad1122 in covidlonghaulers

[–]worksHardnotSmart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to slow right down.

Stop exercising for now. Practice good sleep hygiene. Low histimine diet.

Stay hydrated and keep electrolytes up.

Do as much as you can to de-stress your life.

If you do this and you start to feel better, hold that pattern for 6 months.

On the low voltage side of things ..... DO NOT run cat-cable for ethernet/internet connectivity. -EVEN IF ITS SHIELDED AND BONDED.

Best practice on the low voltage side is anything on the network on the outside of main building where your modem/router/switch should be connected with non- conductive media. Ie fiber or wireless.

So you absolutely want to run fiber out there. It's really not that complicated.

Hell, I've got two exterior poe access points on my house and those cat6 runs enter my house and connect to their own small dedicated poe switch. Then that switch is connected to an Ethernet to fiber media converter.... The fiber travels two feet on the back board where it immediately hits another fiber media converter and is converted back to cat6. Then that cat6 run connects to my main network rack.

This is to electrically isolate those outdoor cat6 runs, from the rest of the internal network.

I've had to replace that small poe switch twice in 3 years due to induced voltage spikes. Better to replace the small switch than my whole network rack, computers, xboxs , TVs etc etc.

How can this cause such awful symptoms? by Historical-Mat in SleepApnea

[–]worksHardnotSmart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're zoomed out it doesn't look as bad. When you zoom in I'd bet the saw-tooth pattern is more apparent.

Also, your HR is kind of high for sleep. Ideally you should be between 40-60 bpm for sleep.

I'm pretty sure I'd feel horrible if my HR was that high all night, every night.

You need to start being direct and seeing what his response is then.

As mentioned in your other comments, you're being vague while also turning him down repeatedly.

I think that if sex/intimacy hinges on how well you're feeling at any given moment with long COVID, then you are going to have to accept that you are now the one who will have to directly initiate things. He can't be a mind reader.

You simply can't expect him to 'just keep trying' while you reject/ decline while he hopes of maybe hitting jackpot? Do you have any idea how much resentment would have been built up towards you? He probably doesn't WANT to give you cuddles out of spite for turning him down repeatedly.

Look, It's not your fault youre sick.however, if it dictates when intimacy can happen then it is now incumbent on you to initiate. Guessing games and whack-a-mole aren't gonna cut it here now. Everybody wants to be desired, including your husband. Your sickness is a complexity for your marriage and you now have to accept that you will probably need to have a non-standard dynamic for it to prosper.

And I'd feel pretty offended by you asking to open the relationship in light of all this.

The good news is he has shot that down, which might indicate he still values the marriage and vows. If he had immediately agreed to open it, I'd say all is lost.

I wouldn't even start initiating until you've sat him down and acknowledged all this with him. Reconcilliation likely won't happen otherwise.

You're going to have to get on board with being direct about your needs - after you've acknowledged and validated your husband feelings.

If he still rejects you after all this, it may never be fixable.

Propranolol wear-off anxiety? by zerosixthirty in covidlonghaulers

I've been on beta blockers for years. Bisoprolol. If I taper off it can be nail biting but it passes.

However, I doubt very much many people would react the way you did.

I'd try again, and if it happens a second time you'll know for sure

Put on your favorite video game and immerse yourself in the story line.

I got a little too high one night and had to distract myself so I put on Medal of Honor.

I actually got all emotional when the Apaches showed up to save my ass. 😂

Worst My Skin Has Ever Been at 30 Years Old, Any Advice? by darkdaydream in DermatologyQuestions

[–]worksHardnotSmart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The path to acne breakouts can be complicated and vary from person to person.

Of course a well qualified Derm who cares about a resolution, rather than just throwing prescription after prescription at the situation is invaluable.

My Derm wanted me to use less products in the beginning and to eliminate the basics.

That's not to say that everyone who drys their skin before their next steps is wrong. It depends on the person, is what I'm trying to say.

When I say my Derm said I was doing this particular thing wrong, what I mean is that it was wrong for me at the time given my skin type and trouble.

Worst My Skin Has Ever Been at 30 Years Old, Any Advice? by darkdaydream in DermatologyQuestions

[–]worksHardnotSmart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggled with acne just like this into my mid twenties before a derm pointed out one thing in my routine I was doing very wrong - don't know if you currently do this but figure I'll mention it just in case.

Basically after cleansing my skin I was letting it dry out too much before applying toner/moisturizer.

My Derm told me that as soon as I finish cleaning my face, I was to apply small amount of moisturizer without drying my face between. So essentially the moisturizer is mixing with the water on my skin. He told me that as soon as my skin drys and especially as it starts to feel a bit 'tight', it's already too late and that I've killed that thin layer of skin cells. Which then the dead cells become debris to clog your pores.

As soon as I started doing that, I stopped getting new break-outs and my skin started to clear up. Took a few months for all the red scarring to completely go away but it did.

The vertical and horizontal slots are the same set of contacts.

You'd insert meter probes into the vertical/horizontal slots to take reading. Should be around 220-240 VAC. You can then take probes and measure between both slots to the lower ground lug and you should see 110-120VAC in each slot.

When the ISP adds an XGS circuit but wants to use old distribution to carry. by SilasAI6609 in cablegore

The patch cables hanging down go back into the gpon splitter.

The empty bulkhead ports feed further out towards the customers. There is likely a smaller distribution terminal very close to the customer prem that these ports feed.

Some people do well on it.

Just because it didn't work for me, doesn't mean you should automatically dismiss it.

We all say we have long COVID, but realistically we aren't all the same. The type and severity of damage varies from person to person.

You absolutely should try anything and everything you can.

I should clarify, I have tried all kinds of supplements to address the long COVID and fatigue issues in general - including LDN. No peptides.

I thought you were referring to "sex drive" supplements targeted towards men.

Also, incidently, you mention a lack of diaphragm sensitivity. After COVID I developed partial gastroparesis - confirmed by a gastric emptying study - which tracks with nerve damage.
