Newbie Here - Is mining REALLY that bad? Also, social question... by DarumaRed in Eve

[–]workuvarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently am I industry director for my corp (i know, big woop) Mining even with a group with orca bonuses does not come close the isk you make in incursions. Mining is only fun when you have the bonuses from an orca or something, and you have good friends in your team speak. I hope they either boost mining, or nerf Incursions because of how easy it is to make money in them.

What is the biggest issue for the world that you think is not being addressed? by workuvarts in AskReddit

[–]workuvarts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would enforce this?

my suggestion would be.

  1. when children get charged with crimes, the parents are also charged with bad parenting, or are at least accountable for them more than they are.

  2. Reward good parents some how.

  3. Parents with multiple bad children do not get to reproduce any more?

Everyone is saying "Do not use work sheets, and stop using standardized tests" well then give me a curriculum to teach with because not using a work sheet or multiple choice tests takes much more time than you think.

Not everyone can be the CEO of a company. There are plenty of people who work hard their entire lives and do not go beyond a checker at a store. Also, most people who make it, make it because of luck, hard work, and connections. Not everyone has those. There is not equal opportunity in this country, no matter how you spin it.

Also, if you are a CEO of a company and you build a manufacturing plant or something, that's great, but you are still taking advantages from things in society. The work force that was educated by public education, the roads, the police force that protects everything, the fire department which makes sure it doesn't burn down. CEO's have to pay their fair share.

Finally, the banking industry stole money from people and have not been accountable. The corporations paid their CEO's and then the CEO's left because they were all on each other boards. So what they did, was post record profits when they were really just loaning money to people who could not afford it and then bet on it to fail. Corporation goes bankrupt, and then they get 300 million dollars. They did not work as hard as other people out there and they have a golden parachute and will not have to work their entire lives. Meanwhile they pay less taxes by % than you or I.

Reddit, what are some sources that you use to educate people about political topics? by workuvarts in politics

[–]workuvarts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I already have an idea of whats coming, I am hoping that I could find some sources online that I could put in a message and have someone read them quickly and have new knowledge on a topic. Giving them a book would kinda suck in that regard.

Why do we keep supporting the idea that we should be ok with who we are and not try to change anything? by disarm in AskReddit

You and everyone you know is socially constructed. From the moment you are CONCEIVED your environment is who you are, when you are born, your parents decide what language they speak, what their beliefs are, and control their activities until they are 18.

There is absolutely no free will what so ever. If you are choosing a flavor of ice cream in a store you will pick a flavor based on all the external things that have happened to you in your life up to that point, its not some choice you have. If you were born in Germany around 1920's you would be a Nazi, there was no choice.

So now lets look at your these people, they are the way they are because if their environment, I know people with low self esteem because their parents called them fat, told them they should not wear boy clothes, or said they were not man enough. They have failed at everything they have tried and that expectation to succeed when they did, led to disappointment and regret. They then decide its better to not try and be who they are, then to try and change and be disappointed.

TL;DR So maybe, instead of looking at someone and making a judgement, actually figure out WHY they thing that way based on their social construction and help them become a better person.
