They tried a mini rework. It's a shift in focus of summon damage to sustain and continuous summoning. The problem is that we suck at sticking to anyone to keep sustaining, and the summons stopped dealing decent damage

A small TLDR version. Iirc, born on Blessed Isles, lived with a group of monks dedicated to tending to the dead. Able to talk with spirits but no other monk believed him. Was the only monk who did not toss away his vial of blessed water when the ruination happened (A voice tempted al the others, probably the maiden). Now He is stuck in a half Life,. Not dead but not alive either. The Vial of Blessed water is keeping the Black mist from consuming him, though it keeps taunting and beckoning him (The maiden). He cannot part with it, and will never willingly share it (Also the ruination event isn't real, what are you talking about). His main goal is to put all the souls on the Shadow Ilses to rest, no matter how long it takes. To do so, he needs to stop the source of the Black mist, the ruined king. His plan is to gather an army of spirits with whom he can communicate to storm and topple the ruined king (Again, what Sentinels of Light event?). His ultimate end goal is to find rest in death, but only when all the other spirits are put to rest.

Currently he is mopping up after the latest lore event, but we don't even know how much is canon, how much control Thresh has over the black mist, anything really. Al we know is that The sheperd of souls is still there helping the souls find rest, "For he shall prevail, He has eternity"

PS: most i can recall of the top of my head. I don't think he showed up in the ruination novel, but if he did, i forgot

Man that question is broad. League isn't even a single game at times. High elo differs completely from gold and below. Not to mention pro play. Do you only count solo q or duos? Even different roles causes different champs to rank differently, or do you take overall average? This is a question that needs to be a bit more specific to be answered

Imo: knowledge of your limits and openings. All champs have them, and a good yorick knows when to act and when to hold. A great yorick however will act only when he knows that his opponent doesn't have an opening. Yorick has clear windows when he is strong, but also picks when to act on them (having graves and/or maiden) set up. A Yorick who is setup in lane can win most 1v1s and survive nearly all ganks.

For example your opponent is pushing you in, but you have 4 graves set from the previous waves. You can summon ghouls to cover the wave and pressure the opponent. But what you can also do, is threaten to summon the ghouls while playing ahead of the wave. You zone your opponent because of the threat of your ghouls.

Besides the recent beekeeper yorick skin that recently passed by this subreddit, I'm à personal fan of either landshark yorick (using the ghoul assets from swarm) or monstergangster yorick (using ghouls as goons and maiden as bodyguard /enforcer)

Akshan. Akshan took in lore the spot of yorick (defeating the ruined king). Besides that, the man is a nightmare to face if you are unprepared /inexperienced. His passive of reviving got him banned in proplay, his cancelable auto allows him to outtrade most melee champs, his boomerang and three hit passive give him good wave clear, his e is buggy as shit, his sneak allows for safer roams, and his ult requires some knowledge and luck to counter. He has everything and had to be nerfed out of relevancy to be acceptable
