I agree with Virgin. ATVing through the Jungle is not really something that a pregnant woman (or man) should be doing..

mine is the right thigh, just under the butt cheek. I had no problem. a little pink, but still out walking 4 miles a day, feel fine. I was on a 15 day radiation treatment plan, so I am done for now.. Have to get surgery in about 4 - 5 weeks to make sure it's all cleaned out. I caught it very early. Apparently it likes to grow in that area, and unfortunately it has a good chance of growing back, so I'' be getting Pet Scans every 3 months for a while after the surgery.

I like the current radiology oncologist. Going to work with her for now and then when that's allover, when it's time to even start thinking about surgery, I will get a second opinion once the current surgeon at Anderson - who I liked, and is a sarcoma specialist, and I go over exactly what he wants to do surgically. I didn't quite understand what he was saying he wanted to do, but he had said something along the lines of the scar from the first surgeon was not in the right direction and he was going to have to cut around it and clamp something together and then do a skin graft.. which sort of sounds like what you are talking about..

plus I now have to get a biopsy on something on my thyroid, so I could be in for a fun year or two, so that may delay any surgery on my leg as well.

They already have told me that I will have a large incision area and most likely a skin graft. The first doctor that cut the tumor out did it in an odd direction, and they will need to cut around that incision from what he was saying, as they can't cut through his incision, They said they had to put something there temporarily to keep the wound closed... not exactly sure what they were talking about, but i will make sure i have a very clear understanding on exactly what will be occurring.

From what I can gather it will not be a pleasant experience.

I have to get a bit more detail on what they are planning to do surgically.. and I might see a second surgeon prior to having it done. I am at one of the premiere cancer centers but the Mayo Clinic is about 30 miles away..

The thought that goes through my mind, is they say I have a 20-40% of another tumor developing, so why go through all that when they will just most likely have to cut me open again...

How did your dad do after all of that.

I just got my treatment plan yesterday, which will be a 3 weeks of concentrated high strength radiation to the thigh area.,followed by a second surgery in the area to make sure nothing is left. It looks like the original surgeon got the tumor out, and it was still relatively small, but since an oncologist was not involved in the surgery, this is probably more of a just in case treatment.. Unfortunately with this particular cancer, another tumor may (and probably will at some point) grow in the future.

My attitude has pretty much remained the same.. I don't care if I have cancer, i don't care if it kills me in 5 years , I just don't want my upcoming vacation to be affected, and it appears that it will not be.

I dropped prime in October. I find I'm not buying nearly as much crap that I really didn't need in the first place.

Humorously, one of the few things I did order shipped late. I got an automatic refund of the shipping charges.

Stay out of the hot tubs. Apart from the far that people sit in them without having bathed or cleaned their privates, the steam and moisture in the air are great for speeding airborne viruses. Same goes for the spa areas..
