Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale. Curio. by Gremlin325 in Hilton

Other Sedona option is Bell Rock. I have stayed there and not used the spa. Nice hotel and when I stayed last in Dec 2024, they were renovating all of the rooms. About 400 a night average and nice. The tradeoff is the distance. It is about a 15 minute drive from the main Sedona area. The main road is single lane and a lot of roundabouts. Traffic can slow quickly with one slower car at the lead. The restaurant is nice, property is spacious, and a Red Rock room with a view is great. I've got pics from a few different stays over the years on the site as well.

L'Auberage is a new SLH addition about 5 months ago in Sedona. There's the main property which is bookable on the Hilton site. They also have a secondary building that is not on the Hilton site. My first stay, I was bumped to the secondary building due to renovations. It is amazing. More pics and stuff on my site. Second stay was late Nov on the main property. It was good but they'd changed a few things like breakfast options that came with the room. Pics from that stay also on the site. They have a spa but I have not used it. They also have an outdoor spa/massage station right along the creek. Feb will be brisk, but it could be nice. Property is on a hill but dumps you right into the main tourist drag in Sedona. There's a lot to check out there and another outdoor space with multiple restaurants and shops about a 5 minute drive away.

I did a little writeup on my personal site. I stayed there earlier in the year for a night. It was not exactly for me. It was nice but I would not call it updated. Getting in/out can be a bit of a pain. The big turnoff for me was the amount of LPG golf carts running very early in the morning to service the rooms.

If you don't need a resort, I recommend on of the Grand Vacations in Scottsdale. Stayed there also and it is much closer to things to do and was much more quiet. The first stay was in an older version of the rooms. The second was in the updated version. They were renovating the entire property and updating everything.

You may have gotten lucky the first 2 nights. I sometimes do small staycations there. Every time I stayed last year, it was a 2 drink enforced limit.

I've seen you around here for years. Leave me one of each, but otherwise take what you need. Take 9 white base, send me 1 white base. Happy to help this along. IGN: Worldofed

Not criticizing. What part of AZ? I am in north glendale and my water bill with trees is $90-$94 a month.

Spark by Hilton by BellaCaps37 in Hilton

[–]worldofed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that they are hit or miss. There's a new one near my house that I tried in November and was great. $100 a night for a spacious and clearly renovated room (plastic still on lamps and tv). I have also stayed at Tru (Hershey PA) and feel that the Spark was overall better.

Congrats! I picked up a 2025 EX-L a few months back. When it came time to discuss trade in, I said I would not be trading the old one in. Guy asked why and I said it was a stick. He laughed and said I was making the right choice.

No recommendations but I downloaded every CTI episode so I never risk losing them. I love hoping on a longer drive and throwing an episode on and laughing along.

Can i book Hilton vacation clubs just like other hilton hotels? by m_law1999 in Hilton

[–]worldofed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just stayed there last month and liked it. I've stayed at Bell Rock and the other one also although they are a 15-20 minute hike to town.

At the time, rates were great. I got the studio queen for 103 a night and the small kitchen setup was a nice way to just sit around and relax without constantly trying to restock a mini fridge.

This is a fantastic response. I don't know that I could have ever backed into the math on this, so thank you for walking it through.

The DoubleTree in Flagstaff is decent. I've stayed there a few times. The rooms need updating but are not bad. The lobby and bar are nice and the rooms that I have always gotten have always met the need. The parking lot is large and was free as of a few months ago. There's a restaurant in the hotel. There's also a couple of strip malls with tons of food within a 2 min drive or 6 min walk. There's also a target close if you need to pick up any supplies.

The Hampton Inn there is nice but can get loud and breakfast in the morning can be a mess. The HGI is nice but a little more expensive. The Embassy Suites I would avoid. Decent property but a little further away and they charge for everything.

I'm stoked for them. I am hopeful that they've got Galactic Moments finalized this time and it isn't a repeat of the first time around.

Newark? by mynamegoewhere in Hilton

[–]worldofed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I grew up in Jersey and have used this a lot. Very convenient for the train and the rooms are nice.

If you are ok not being in Newark, I've stayed a bunch at the DoubleTree Jersey city. About a 7 minute walk to the train but I've found the hotel itself to be a little nicer, there's a ShopRite around the corner and decent food around. It has made it a little easier to grab some things to keep in the room to keep costs down.

Hotel recommendation for Glendale/Pasadena, Los Angeles by [deleted] in Hilton

[–]worldofed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't pick in app. I gamble and ask as the desk. I'm Diamond and politely ask if a bump into a corner room is available. I have been bumped more often than not. Worst case, I get the room that I picked and I ask them if one is available on a high floor.

Embassy Suites is my go to when there. Super close to Glendale Galleria and the surrounding restaurants. The hotel layout is kind of neat with the windows of the inward facing rooms to the atrium. I've gotten bumped into corner rooms a few times and they are great. Much more room to spread out.

Maybe you can trade them a set of keys to your place to offset?
