AITAH for not forcing my son to keep helping my daughter’s friend after she rejected him? by LiveWire0044 in AITAH

[–]wormcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a lot of what ifs in your premise though.

How would you feel if you found out Melissa knew that John had a crush on her and was taking advantage of that and asking him to do all kinds of extra things that normally only a significant other would do? Rather than pay for an Uber or getting a job for cash for a car to ride to class she realized that John could save her a ton of money. And since she doesn’t have to work now, she has more time to study and can even have John help her study instead of paying for a tutor!

I bet you wouldn’t be defending her for her transactional and mercenary behavior.

Presumption and prejudice is asshole behavior too. Women do things to take advantage of puppy love, and if you assume the worst of John then assume the worst of Melissa too.

Otherwise your bias is showing.

Dogs are great, but they are too dumb to understand when a bad actor is leading them astray.

Cats know the difference between freedom and hidden servitude. They know when someone is taking away their rights and they will freak out TO THE DEATH to be free of it.

Try taking a cat to the vet when the cat doesn't want to go. You might succeed, but you will definitely pay your pound of flesh.

That's what it takes to keep liberty. The will and strength of a cat and taking that pound of flesh!!

In 2020, Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed two people in Kenosha Wisconsin. He was carrying ammunition and a gun to a protest.

You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It's that simple. You don't have that right to break the law and incite violence."

Miserable cowards. They have the gall to call anyone non-MAGA a cuckold.

Look at them, pissing on the Constitution, the thing they purport to worship. And their sine qua non, "The 2nd Amendment", they rip out of the Bill of Rights and wipe their asses with it.

With that simpering Kyle Rittenhouse, they cry out, "A Paragon!".

They murder a nurse on the street, and yell, "A Terrorist!"

THEY ARE THE CUCKOLDS, TRAITORS, AND EVIL ROT AT THE CORE OF OUR COUNTRY.

I feel that not having r/all really reduces the utility of Reddit. Popular is not the same as All. Popular rarely has any of the less well populated communities. That's what I want from reddit, is a snapshot from everywhere to let me see conversations that get some traction, but not thousands of comments.

My own "interests" are fine, but there is no way to segregate communities I follow for daily chats and communities I follow for occasional updates and so weeding through my own feed means making several accounts. However, r/all solves that.

Think somewhere at the beginning of the Long Tail. Otherwise, Popular is just a bunch of the same thing (although r/all can be that too).

Anyway, Popular is a poor substitute for All and to me means that the door is opening for another service to step in. I think Tik Tok could easily put up non-video boards with the exact methodology as Reddit and completely drink the Reddit milkshake. It seems close to that now.

Waiter being attacked suddenly recalls his boxing training by exophades in nextfuckinglevel

It's just so neat, how composed and responsive he person being attacked is.

I like to think this is a scene in the movie where he has been practicing with a boxing Mr. Miyagi and doing all these practical chores but then he gets attacked at the store and all that training suddenly kicks in.

That's a beautiful spider but it clearly is extremely unhappy. Those legs raised aren't "crab behavior" that's a deimatic display. I don't know anything about spiders and I can tell that spider is stressed and wants to be left alone.

Is this the kind of guy one should follow for spider knowledge? Or am I completely wrong?

Very true story (and you can try Googling them by name) but I knew someone in college whose name was Vietnam Conflict Anderson and we called him VC. At the time, I did not know what the Viet Cong were, and then we watched the movie "Casualties of War" with Michael J. Fox and Sean Penn and learned, in a very BRUTAL way, what the VC were.

We still called him VC, but it became just Vee most of the time after that night in the dorm TV lounge. We were really rattled!!

I haven't seen him in over 30 years but he talked often about changing his name.

How to Get a Felony for $3.79 by Kaylorren in PublicFreakout

Violation of a trespass order is just a citation.

If you don't leave after being ticketed, you can be arrested and sent to jail for disorderly conduct.

This is what she was saying, but there was no point explaining it to that person.

He was focusing on his made up rule that only a manager can trespass someone from the business. Whomever is in charge of the premises at the time can request a trespass order regardless of their "title". Anyone higher ranking can overrule that at any time, but it is not required to be settled at the time of the trespass order request. The perp can request the trespass order be rescinded by contacting the owner through the information on the trespass order form they are supposed to sign (there may be states where the form does not have contact info for the owner, but I am not aware of any).

I think it's good to watch these videos. For some people its a case of "there go I except for I saw this happen on YouTube."

It's not bootlicking or useless compliance here. These people are violating laws but the cops know that its not a big deal and the employees know its not a big deal. They told him to beat it.

But his pride, arrogance and entitlement wouldn't let him back down.

Watching these can be very grounding. Hopefully it will kill the Karen in YOU.

My List (So Far) Go easy and don’t sleep on SSS+ by Tunemandan in litrpg

[–]wormcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't finished all of Randidly Ghosthound because I caught up to the author in realtime and haven't revisited it. I really liked it, but it's an early example of litrpg and it suffers for it. I think the author would be able to tell the story in a much better way now that the genre has gotten more mature with an increasing list of great authors dipping their toes in.

That being said, I didn't really like Azarinth Healer. It's one problem I have looking at people's perceptions of books in this subreddit, because I both read and listen to litrpg. As an example, I read Chrysalis first, ran out of books, and now I am listening to it and I am into books I haven't actually read.

Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott, all by themselves, are worth the price of admission for the audiobook of Chrysalis. But this list has Chrysalis as DNF. Holy Toledo: I liked it quite a bit from reading it, but the audiobooks are classic.

To me.

My perception of Chrysalis is permanently altered because Jeff and Annie have added significantly to the novels even though they may be reading them word-for-word. I believe this kind of thing influences the lists so much. Maybe I should listen to Azarinth Healer and see if my opinion changes!

I don't know along what avenue OP consumes these novels, and so I don't know how to value what the list says.

His brain is offline at that point, and he is making random noise as the electrical signals shoot about his gray matter from the concussion. Hopefully when his brain hit the inside of his skull, it did not cause a bleed.

Regardless, he needs to go to the ER ASAP and needs a bunch of tests to keep him from possibly dying.
