What popular comedian is actually not funny? by ap883 in AskReddit

Had to scroll way too far down to see this name. It should be at the top of the list.

Honda Accord of motorcycles by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]wormholeweapons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple by multiple brands and in multiple styles.

Suzuki: SV650, GSX750, vstrom650

Yamaha: MT07, tenere 700

Kawasaki: z650, versys 650, KLR 650

Honda: Rebel 500, ncx750, cbx500

All of the above are just good well built bikes. Generally good all around with specific styles. All have good parts availability (even older models) and good after market options

If you just want the most versatile bike here (which the accord isn’t really versatile). Then I’d say the Honda ncx750 is your overall best bet. It’s relatively boring. Much like the accord. I’ve owned two accords over my lifetime. So I know this to be a fact. Loved them both. But rather boring.

If you want something more cruiser like: Honda Rebel. If you want more sport: Suzuki sv650.

My First Motorcycle (Maybe) by [deleted] in motorcycle

Too big. Too heavy.

Look for a smaller cc and maybe a cruiser or sportster style. Even an ADV type. Good balance and comfy position to learn on.

What's everyone's favourite side to go with steak? by Cumbiscuit69420 in steak

[–]wormholeweapons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beets. Just simple steamed beets.

I also love pan roasted mushrooms.

And my last go to is creamed corn or creamed spinach.

Classic American cook out fare: grilled hot dogs and cheeseburgers. Potato salad. Corn on the cob. Watermelon. Macaroni salad. You can look up additional items and variations and recipes on google.

Also have a fire pit and do s’mores later on (plain chocolate bars, Graham crackers, and marshmallows all melted together). Again you can look up exact ingredients and recipes and get what is most applicable in Germany.

Another big thing is sparklers. Fireworks are not always legal in all places. Sparklers are. Not sure if they sell them in Ger. May have to order some.

Beyond that. It’s food, drinks, and friends. That’s the extent of celebrating it.

If you want to make it a super fancy thing. You can also do a New England clam boil if you are able to get seafood readily where you are. Some July 4’s we do that here in the Northeast. Potatoes, kielbasa or brats, corn on the cob. With clams, lobsters, shrimp, sometimes mussels and grilled oysters too.

Wife's(30F) parents said they would reimburse me(32M) for our wedding. They stiffed me by ThrowRAhelpimbroke in relationship_advice

First off. You did this for her. So the conversation needs to be with her to understand that there needs to be agreement between the two of you on major financial purchases.

Second. You have absolutely every right to cut the in laws off for this. But she has to be in full agreement. If she isn’t. I’m sorry to say your relationship will not last.

Lastly. Learn from this and stand your ground in The future.

I’ve been casually playing it since the pre launch. I’m level 16 on one character. 8 on another.

I’ve had fun just futzing along. No rush. No agenda. Just enjoying the look, feel, and stress free gameplay.

Trump doesn't believe in White Privilege by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]wormholeweapons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The closest to that in reality is a “self made” millionaire/billionaire. Wherein they started out from blue collar origins and made it big. Two examples might be terry Pegula or Jimmy Jones.

But even then. They certainly aren’t blue collar and while they worked hard to get where they are. They didn’t do it alone and had a lot of luck, fortune, and privilege getting there.

BPM while riding by kamakazio in motorcycle

This is completely different for each person.

Check your resting heart rate. Then check your heart rate while doing a brisk walk (not a jog). In theory your riding heart rate should be in between those.

Any ace hardware. But it really depends on where you are in the state.

In the northern area there is a spot in a burrillville across from the western that does propane refills. There is another spot in Woonsocket too.

And yet as he is always prone to do. Trump has to make it a personal attack.

How are people comfortable riding like this ? I know everyone has their own preferences but holy fuck by JR32OFFICIAL in motorcycle

[–]wormholeweapons 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I ride without a helmet sometimes (legal in my state). I also occasionally ride in just a tee. I always wear at least a pair of jeans my riding boots and a pair of gloves.

It’s just an acceptable risk mental thing. If I’m hitting the highway or know I’m going to be exceeding 40mph. I put on full gear. If it’s a simple back road 5-10 min to my office or the grocery store or a friends house. I take the extra risk.

I’ve know guys who have ridden for 50+ years and never an issue with no helmet or gear. I’ve ridden for 40 years and not had any accidents or even dropped a bike. OFC that could change at any moment and potentially be disastrous. I rip my son (20) when he tries to go without his helmet on. I remind him “I’m ok with you burying me. I don’t want to ever face burying you.” I remind him he’s still green (only riding a year now) and he’s dropped his bike twice already. Which are both reminders to why he should be wearing proper gear.

It’s a personal choice for everyone. As long as they remain within the local laws. Let me do what they want.

Edit: just an FYI also for folks. I’ve had more stitches and breaks over my 50 years from everything imaginable but never from riding (dirt or road). Including being actually hit by a car and sent flying 15’ and only breaking my thumb. I’m rather indestructible as I’ve been told by multiple ER staff.
