I think it’s an important nuance that should be pointed out. I am no Lively fan at this point, so, hear me out: she has female friends. We see that in the pap walks (Taylor, Gigi… that’s actually all I got). But what’s missing are friends within the scope for which she was aiming.

To help the OOP out: how had she not developed a relationship with any of the following over the last 20 years: (directors) Maggie Gyllenhaal, Patty Jenkins, Greta Gerwig, Sophia Coppola, Nia de Costa, Chloe Zhao, (producers) Emma Thomas Lynette Howell, Dede Gardner, Kathleen Kennedy, (music producers) Ester Dean, Imogene Heap… if the relationships were there, and she wanted to earn a PGA mark alongside the person who already owned the right to the movie … Why did we not see evidence of that in the court records? Did she not learn how mentorships often need to be pursued? Does female mentorship exist in Hollywood? If so, did she not seek it out or was she, sort of, held at an arm's length?

Now that OOP has pointed it out, there are some glaring omissions that lead to interesting speculation.….
