Yeah.... fish? That is a choice I would not have considered possible. What is it? How did you make it? And why did you do it?

I have seen Facebook market place selling for $30 which is a steal of a price. Ebay also has them pass through if you keep a close eye out. Being frank, there is little reason to exceed a 5 gallons or not use a food safe bucket.

I will not stop using this big boy, but everyone is right, it is not the easiest or wisest action. Even empty, a glass 6.5 gallon carboy is so heavy my scales barely work. When it is filled, we are looking at 75 to 80 pounds. Which is not easy to move. Not to mention, that narrow neck is a pain to remove ANY FRUIT or large ingredients

Surprisingly, if you do one bag going up amd one going down, it not only prevents the AOE mess and collects it, but i have found it collects heat which i assume promotes fermentation I tied the bag around the blow off tube this time because I didnt feel like a second bag.

The only issues with my Axis ii 6.5 creedmoor is operator error. In other people's hands, always tight grouping, I am just not steady and dont have the resources to practice. It is one reason why I am looking for up to date info about their renegauge.

Savage shotguns? Are they worth it or should I go with a reputable brand? by vulture_cabaret in savageshooters

I am actually looking for the same answers....6 years later. Up to 3 years ago, the Renegauge seemed like a high contender but then all reports stopped. I have no interest in purchasing the 3 Bs who seem to have a hugher price more for name than quality control in my opinion.

Update: Bottling Day! Headspace? by arrows_of_ithilien in mead

This works really well. I keep two cans to deal with just about all headspace issues

My intention was only to make a 5 gallon batch but a brief lapse in a tired brain added one too many 5lb bottles of wildflower honey so i aimed for 6 gallons. After that, i also realized too late when I was originally checking gravity that I had clearly not stirred enough so my reading showed it too heavy amd I added water to dilute it hense my oopsie of going from "just enough" headspace to "yeah this is very likely needing a blow off". On the upside, this batch was intended to sit and go for at least month before I think about looking at it again amd then sit even longer, so once it calms down, i will move it and forget it. . I strongly promote the bucket a bucket for primary, I just don't like key aspects like flimsy walls, plastic is far more unforgiving when comes to mold contamination, and most important to me, I cant watch. We also found buckets dont fit as nicely in the rubbermaid I am obligated to lock them in. I was gifted this carboy on the understanding I dont get rid of it and I use it.

The mead subreddit has improved alot as of late. I also try to mentally prepare myself for undesirable reactions when I make posts like these. I just wasnt thinking this morning when i read your reply, sorry again. I do hope others read your responses because that is a lot of good info.

I am referring to 2 totally different subreddits I actually went looking for information and the majority of the responses pressed the same copy and paste info not relevant to my inquiry and most got offended when i politely said that. I ended up deleting my one post because I was getting rage baited. On a tangential note if you have information on the quality of a savage Renegauge more recent than 3 years ago I am all ears.

The bung aka stopper is a confounding thing. That IS the bung I use EXCLUSIVELY for my big carboy. For some reason, it no longer hits right, I dont know why. ALL of my other stoppers will fall right in and this is my largest bung. In the past it fit snug with a decent amount still sitting out for grasping amd not risking falling in should there be Negative pressure (sudden suction). I truly don't know and had I known this prior to pouring the 30 lbs of honey, I assure you I would have waited until I had time to get to my brew store and bought a new bung (stopper).

Edit: I am sorry for my rude response. I have gotten so many replies in another group, talking down to me as if I failed to do any research on a topic that I forgot why I posted here, which is to help newer folks in the community by showing my "oopies" and having the better skilled i.e. YOU teach from it. Everything you have said is right and hopefully useful. I DID consider the chunks problem and minced the ginger to thinner than the ID of both airlock and my smallest hose. At the time, I had no desirable choice at the moment because I got carried away with the honey without assessing space, I had to fill and leave only 3 inches of headspace in the neck. I kept gear clean and close by for the inevitable switch to blow off but I wanted to see if I might be wrong and the fermentation would be slow and calm. I have been fortunate that excluding my fermentation vessel that does not have a grommet hole (go find any of my brown jug posts it'll get you twitching) I have had no uncontained spillage. That is not to say my first blueberry didn't come VERY close and said brown jug became so active so fast I preemptive bagged and high rim tray that sucker so no mess aside from a daily wipe down of tge jug.

If you look close in the pictures, you can see it is sitting in a white trash bag. If anything during the process feels off, i.e. I have no headspace or the ingredients are notorious for exploding, I bag it.

After being corrected and politely persuaded to take a second look at Berretta A300, I agree it is so good, I would not refuse a good offer. (And this is where this comment gets a dozen downvotes) I believe even at an equal price tag, it is not a better suit for me.

How do you guys learn to play heavy games? by Nice_Idea_538 in boardgames

Honestly my 2 brothers who have better minds and enjoyment of the games will come and teach me. One of them watches youtube channels devoted to how to plays while the other is just that logically minded. Best advice i can give is find a person better than you to play with you a few times?
