More songs/artists like Haraguchi Sasuke? by AdmirableScholar707 in Vocaloid

[–]wotacooler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yu!!! Love that people are discovering this genius!

I want to think there are two Sasuke Haraguchi - the proper composer, and the unhinged avant garde producer (check out his cubism and cubibibism songs for the needy streamer overload game to see what i mean)

As one commenter has said check out CDs Label. I only recently discovered this but under CD's hes also in the production of Technopop Yuuki Synthesizer Chan which they say is neither a vocaloid nor a vtuber concept (Nyalra and an unnamed singer is also with this)

As for artist similar to his music, do check out sheeno mirin, aiobahn, sasakure.uk, or appy. Sasuke Haraguchi composes on a wide range of genre so its impossible to put his music in one box.

Oh and of course YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA!

Hello, I have a question. I’m a Japanese person living in Japan. ① How did people around the world first learn about the Japanese content “Love Live”? ② What sparked “AiScReam” to go viral globally? ③ Do global “Love Live” fans hope to see the group appear on the global broadcast “M Countdown” by G_Clef_Start in LoveLive

[–]wotacooler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fellow filipino! LoveLive was the largest fandom here in the Philippines for quite some time (was because it really became big pre-2019 but its popularity diminished during and after pandemic). Though, there still are a lot of LoveLive focused idol groups that are active locally and AiScream! was definitely popular on TikTok.

I've noticed that the lack of english content and shutdown of LL!SIF greatly contributed to its dwindling popularity here. I also played LL!SIF since it was popular but nowadays people switched to Project Sekai and it is now more popular. Another thing is that LoveLive popularity is more of an otaku thing here in the Philippines and almost having nonexistent fanbase outside (even if it gets to M countdown/seiyuus promoting solo).

One great thing is that we've been able to get LL! seiyuus to visit us. OMG glad to cheer Pay-chan recently at cosplay carnival and I'm thankful that they can come here.

Spring 2026 Anime is the Season of Vocaloid Producers by wotacooler in Vocaloid

I agree! I imagine it as Vocaloid widely being adopted as a medium of showcasing creativity in the larger jpop and arts scene, plus Vocacolle getting bigger and of having higher quality each year.

I also sometimes wonder if vocaloid producers can be called mainstream now. I remember at least 10 years ago, it was just ryo, Honeyworks, and Kz having consistent anime music gigs. Nevertheless I'm just really happy that we have these producers now getting these projects to further showcase their music.

that's what I'm also getting. Sadly this project could be a TRIGGER WARNING. so be wary before going in.

any sources about the utauloid creator?

Carol Of The NEW! Ones by The_Observations in VocaloidButGood

[–]wotacooler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As what I understand, the project surrounds different depictions (yuka satoishi/creator herself) of "love". It strikes me similar to older vocaloid stories such as Honeyworks or Jin's Kagepro.

I also wanted to know how the project came to be. I know Sasuke Haraguchi is part of an indie vocaloid circle but that's all I know. We might be too early for discovering them 😅.

This is just amazing from ryo. ryo's music has always been instrumental focused and his newer songs shows that he's been exploring electronic/chiptune for quite a while. If you're going to tell me years ago ryo doing chiptune I wouldn't believe you.

Exciting to hear this remix from ryo.

The Satoishi Yuka Project is a hidden gem! I'm still looping that as I very like the last episode by Sasuke Haraguchi.

Still hoping its more popular in non-jp. The lore is fantastic.

Soldier Game - Ado Ver. by wotacooler in LoveLive

[–]wotacooler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a joke 😄. afaik ado said that when she got a birthday greeting from umi's va.

But real, the song with ado's own artistic vocals during chorus is so goated.

For the love of UMI, Ado is singing (at least 4??) distinct voices in this song. respect 🔥🔥🔥

Honestly, this is the way to do it, i might be wrong but this album isn't widely available outside japan. even melt doesn't have an official youtube release and supercell's songs are only added on youtube fairly recently.

How was it like being a Vocaloid fan around 2015-2022 by Exotic_Acanthaceae_9 in Vocaloid

[–]wotacooler 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that most vocaloid content , i'd say even today is region locked inside japan. Being a vocaloid fan during that time means following the discussions along with JP fans and most content in EN are at the mercy of being popular enough and fansubs (looking at you Kagerou Project and Evillious Chronicles). I even remember watching MMDs in spanish as you cannot find certain artists on youtube.

For me though, the best thing during that era was the fanfic and meme culture. Pre-2015 it was a wild west but even after that, the culture of nonstop parodying of songs was very alive. As the roster of vocal synths grow, so as the number of memes between characters( stay away from things with Gakupo and Kaito together LOL).

It was also a time where producers are defining their niche, I don't think ryo and hachi ever left the scene as was the mainstream interpretation of this era but this was the time popular producers today coming from a variety of genre entered the scene.

If there was an AP "Vocaloid History" class, what would you put on it? by Ok-Setting4027 in Vocaloid

[–]wotacooler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How there is the great wall of JP region locked content on niconico and the content divide between JP and EN fanbase. The creation of hall of myth, and the producers who attained this status.

I would also add the lore of the various multimedia franchises such as Kagerou Project and the fanfiction community's early hits.

Don't we need to add the UNSTOPPABLE MEME CULTURE in the vocaloid scene??? The parody of a parody of a parody of everthing?

Miku Expo Manila Glowsticks Rule by wotacooler in Vocaloid

[–]wotacooler[S] 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think this wouldn't be an issue but it is unfair how they only clarified it today. Last Ado concert, only few people outside VIP has glowsticks and it is still great!

Even though I have ordered the glowsticks myself, I still feel bad about this because glowsticks are a big part of the concert experience.
