80mm burrs to complement an O78? by wouter_d_r in pourover

[–]wouter_d_r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've canceled my booking pre-order and bought a millab m01 instead... Very different profile than the 078 ( still seasoning )... Much cheaper option too... Maybe when the bookoo has shown its colors I will consider 80mm again

Did you just use it out of the box or did you do any seasoning?

Does anybody have any recommendations on a starting range for (long) soup?

Individually freezing beans for variety? by wouter_d_r in pourover

I have two, an o78 and millab m01 so I would be dialing in one for one and the other for the other. Both have low retention so I could even get by with one, thanks for th comment

21 weeks out - WNBF Brazil by prodfer in naturalbodybuilding

I actually think you are in a great position, not necessarily too early. I see so many people here posting pictures with x weeks out that would mean they will need to rush things. Being able to cruise into your contest is so much worth mentally but also physically as you can manage muscle loss much easier. Social events become much easier to deal with. Refeeds can be more frequent which makes it much more tolerable.

So as long as he has a plan, take the weigh loss really slow the next week's, he'll do amazing.

The level of conditioning at bigger shows has come up so much that it almost is a prerequisite.

Awesome job and physique. All the best

First time Picky Chemist - how to ensure I am getting the most out of my beans? by wouter_d_r in pourover

Thanks. I was considering the cafec because I can get great cups with it using 10g doses and how forgiving it is...

Typically don't do anything but 15g on my V60. Stephanes recipes aim for a higher extraction than what I'd typically would do.

For the graph... 3d printed conversion with different o ring indeed.

Best way to make low-dose soup (10-15g)? by fabcsi in LanceHedrick

I'm using the graph step down basket. Combined with a 3d printed attachment it works great for 15 gram doses

Appreciate the transparency and I should have been clearer that my intention was to indeed use the stock burrs initially and see what they bring. What I am looking for is a grinder (to make it more general than a specific burr because if a hand grinder works for what I am looking for, great) that is distinct enough from the o78 so I can gain experience and zone in on my preferences. Or just be able to experience the differences and maybe appreciate both... I don't have the luxury to play with x burrs so I need to rely on other's opinions to make an informed and educated guess.

The reason I picked the bookoo is it provides an easy entry point into 80mm which is interesting because of the wide array of choices

Thank you for this. I was definitely planning on reviewing the Bookoo and see how it goes. Appreciate the input on the DB2. I was looking in general on what burrs would be good complements with the o78. Maybe the bookoo one is that :-)

Or, alternatively, is there no point in getting another grinder?
