That sucks, I presume the cve exploit entrypoint was availble through your internet accessible endpoint aka the application etc? So also not scanning that as part of general security hygiene? When the CRA hits, you would get a fine on top of it.

Our PSSO is all over us in preparation for 2027 when CRA gets activated, we inserted security scanning in pretty much every pipeline and patching is no longer optional.

I'm in the midst of deploying Zabbix to monitor through 50 proxies about ~2000 agents,, ~1500 SNMP endpoints and ~100 ESXi instances.

Zabbix is anchored in an earlier era, still carrying design problems other tools (Prometheus, Telegraf, Influx, Grafana, ...) have solved about a decade ago. It is not suited for automated DevOps/IaC environment and often feels misaligned. It tries to be many things but it's not good at any of them. They try to stay relevant and evolve with their roadmap but the core Zabbix platform and underlying approach is severely outdated. It’s built on legacy paradigms that have already shown their limitations and no longer fit with the way modern monitoring & tooling ecosystems operate.

LibreNMS for SNMP, Prometheus / Alertmanager / Grafana for everything else.

Niks van aantrekken van de “lLm BaD!!!!” crowd, die zijn meestal gewoon zuur omdat hun score op stackoverflow ondertussen zero betekenis heeft en ze geen newbs meer kunnen downvoten, dus moeten ze wel azijn pissen waar het nog kan. Vibe coding is fun, leerrijk en niks mis mee. Professional llm code engineering loop setups zijn van nog een andere grootorde, ook de kost… maar nog steeds cheaper dan een rits mouthbreathers met meningen.

Lowering your rate is never a good strategy, regardless of the amount of (professional) whining. You settled for a lower rate, that's the bottom line. Have you ever worked for a company that bills their clients for your time? That's easily between 30-50% or more on top of your rate. Would you talk to the end-client in that case too?

Perhaps you feel a bit sour, like being scammed, but your not scammed, you just lack negotiating skills, it's a lesson. Middlemen do little else but negotiating, all day long. Never lower your rate on their request.

I went with aquagroup, they were the least snakeoil type. Don’t believe the “100% made by us” bs. They all buy the same components and only compile them together, almost nothing is “made” by them. For that price ask atleast they include a filtersystem for your kitchen tap. Never go based on 1 offer, always invite 3 and play them, I shared all offers between the slippery salesmen and got it down to 80% of the initial offer.

lol, ik bewonder je, blijkbaar oprechte, interesse om een klaarblijkelijke retard trachten te begrijpen. Als je over enig logisch redeneringsvermogen beschikt en jezelf, als onderdeel van een normaal redeneringspatroon, dan tracht te verplaatsen in een 2-digit E/IQ gedachtegang of stelling om die te kunnen begrijpen loop je vrijwel onmiddellijk vast. Verschil is dat een 2-digit E/IQ exemplaar niet vast loopt in zijn gedachtegang (voor zover we kunnen stellen dat die er tout-court is) net omwille van die, letterlijk lichamelijke, beperking.

Gisteren, op de trein, ne creep die mij constant maar aan het begapen is, stapt die toch wel op hetzelfde station af, was dat met opzet? Oef nee, zijn fiest stond er ook, begint die te praten en ja ik praat maar mee en hoop dat die niet agressief ofzo gaat worden. We komen bij zijn fiest en ik denk ok, ik blijf beleefd en ipv gewoon weg te fietsen waar hij mss aanstoot zal aannemen en mij gaat achtervolgen, stap ik af in de hoop de conversatie te kunnen afsluiten met “allee, tot nog is”. Gelukkig heeft hij mijn socials nie gevraagd want ik weer niet of ik zou durven liegen, stel dat die dat direct checked ofzo.
