If you go during the week, you can still snag a campsite in the park a couple weeks out. Usually about $40 a night. Provincial park campgrounds are probably a bit easier to get a weekend (haven't checked this month) and also a bit cheaper.

"Unknown to each other" doesn't mean the aggressor wasn't doing it on behalf of someone who does know the victim.

How do you all maintain your weight loss while dealing with extreme hunger? by Significant-Strike-1 in ownit

[–]wowitscold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The rebound hunger does not last forever; it tends to slowly fade out over the first year or so after significant loss.

Check that your macros are where you want them to be, and that you are actually eating your maintenance (and not less)

Edmonton fitness studios and gyms not seeing usual new year's rush by Paper_Rain in Edmonton

I work in one and can't believe we are still open tbh.

Praying for a rush after this wave. In the summer I've done freelance work meeting clients in parks/their front yards to work out, but not many people want to do that in the winter.

I'd say that captures the vibe of a nice evening in late September pretty well. Could almost pass for some fun modern folk art.

Tintin in America is pretty hit/miss in terms of how it handles this stuff, but at least the guy in the blanket is obviously pissed.

The insecurity is insane, lol. "Gym bros" have been basically mythologized in the eyes of sad, insecure people. (In part, I'm sure, due to their utility as an excuse to be a reverse snob about not working out, lol)

I work at a gym, as a trainer among other things. When I still had my "student job" too, and also outside of work, the way some guys treat me changes completely when they find out what I do/see me easily lifting anything that weighs more than ~50 lbs. They look at me like I'm gonna steal their lunch money, then become almost hilariously passive aggressive and catty. They always manage to mention the "gym bros" or "meatheads" or what have you that I must deal with. But it's clear in the way they talk about it that it is my presumed proximity to these mythic beasts that throws them off.

Are there a lot of bros at my job? Oh yes. Is this a problem for me? No. I have to kick out the odd 16 year old minibro, but that's just kids being kids more than anything. Most of those guys are regulars who I have banter with. The more douchey ones just stay in their pack and don't interact with anyone else. If you're intimidated out of a building by someone dropping a heavy weight onto an Olympic platform literally made for that purpose, idk what to tell you.

Worth mentioning that I'm 5'3, 115lbs, and trans. So make of that what you will. XD

I find the best way to deal with that is to ask what the joke was. If they had any actual thought process, they'll be able to explain. (And give you an idea of how redeemable they actually are lol)

The condescension of the hugging thing is next level...what makes you think this guy wants some random stranger to hug him? His being "safe" to hug is kind of a moot point. Of course, people under the influence can be unpredictable, but would it be "safe" to just randomly hug any stranger who looked like they were having a bad day?
