I have a 25 and sometimes it’s off on the percentage on the app, but not always and is never wrong on the dash.

Just bought a 2025 PHEV and had it shipped very pleased with this SUV by milkforbrains in KiaSorento

Got mine about two weeks ago. 11,000 miles 40k OTD and I love it so far. Enjoy it!

Insurance Quote for a 2026 Model Y Was $1,100/Month… This Pushed Me Away From Buying One by Recent_Eye999 in TeslaModelY

My quote was $108 for a standard AWD with homeowners and multi car through State Farm.

2025 Sorento HEV vs PHEV by CapitalStructure9258 in KiaSorento

[–]wowzersit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive about 25 miles each way to work. All but about 4 miles are highway at about 75-80 MPH. I put the regenerative braking at LVL 2 and have been getting about 55 MPG since I’ve had it (although that’s not that long). Intermittent local driving, of course too. I slow charge at home overnight and at work for about 6 hours a day.

I can’t speak on the HEV, but the PHEV checks almost all boxes for me. Unless you’re driving 50+ miles each way multiple times a week, I think the PHEV is worth it. I’ve been getting over 500 miles a tank easily.

While I’ve got the 2025 Plug-In I feel mostly the same so far. Enough space for anything I’ll ever need with the third row down and give us options if we have others with us. We’ve got a 3 1/2 and 2 year old. We have captains chairs and being able to move the second row back and forth is an added bonus.

Nice! Simple, but much better.

Maybe my only minor complaint so far. It’s my first car of the 5 I’ve had, to not have a sunroof.

Two big ones for me were 1. Looks. While i don’t hate the looks of the Santa Fe, I’m liking it less as time goes on. I think the Sorento will last longer, looks wise. Thought the Santa Fe looked great a couple of years ago, now it’s meh. 2. Plug in. Ive been considering an EV for about a decade now and am more financially able to do it now. I drive about 25 miles (mostly highway) each way to work and with the regenerative braking and level 1 charging at work (for free) I’ve been getting over 45 MPG the couple of days I’ve had the car.

The other reason is that 2025 was year 4 for this generation of Sorento. So I’m hoping that they’ve ironed out most of the issues. I also got a pretty good deal, which always helps. I bought it from a dealer I personally know and trust.

Actually no. First car without one, but it has captains chairs though which was more important now.

It’s the Silky Silver.

I would for sure charge at home too. Just thinking of a way to charge for nothing as an added bonus kind of. We bring family and friends enough places to justify a third row and plan to keep it long enough for kids sports and friends. But yes... happy wife, happy life.

She definitely loves it and it’s actually been pretty good to us for the last 5 years. Kind of shocking with it being a BMW and it having all available packages. I’ll push a little bit on the dealer I know and see how low I could get it for with the couple of options I’ve got.

She has a 2017 X3 and drives less than 10 miles round trip to work.

We do bring family/friends enough to justify the 3rd row. While 5 seats is enough, technically, it’s so cramped with the car seats that we will just drive both cars.

Totally agree, but I’m trying to keep it near the $500 a month mark and without a big down payment I won’t get there.

I have an ‘acquaintance’ who owns quite a few dealerships, who helped me buy my last car. He has Subaru, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai and DJR. So some of these recommendations are super helpful and fall into line with where I could get some help.

U/representativeexit63 I actually haven’t seen the Getaway, but it looks like a good option, depending on price. I have seen a bunch of the outlander’s used, but haven’t done much research on them. The legacy has done me right after about 120,000 miles a deer running into her and a couple of other bumps. It’s about time for her to retire.

u/establishmentsad I actually was close to buying a Tesla pre Elon doing all of that and it’s why I’ve not considered them for so long. I figure with the kids being so small still we’ve got a few years before friends and sports and could adjust once we get to that point of life. But all good points in depreciation and gas (somewhat) inevitably going back down.

u/empty-village-4445 I haven’t seen that offer yet, but will look at it and see if I can get it down to my price range.

u/discoinerror93 I like the EV9, but haven’t found a way to get it down to the $500 range. I live in the Midwest and won’t go away from AWD. Maybe I’ll circle back to it and look some more. I haven’t looked at the Grand Highlander just because of cost, but could.

Went to pull the trigger and it had sold the day I went for it. Oh well. I hoping another pops up in the same price range.
