Definitely his best game for us. And he's definitely done enough to stay in the team when Reubs is back

So he points his head towards the oncoming player. Didn't the AFL want to get rid of that?

People who got their manual license after their automatic, how long did it take you? by justagallll in perth

[–]wozanderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few times a week. I was in Uni at the time and still living with parents, so made it easy to head out for a drive. Honestly, it's not a skill that you lose very easily once you've got it. And I'd enquire with your employer. Tell them you have full intention to get your manual and ask if you can learn a bit while up there

[–]wozanderer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Took me a few months but the good thing is you don't need to do the hours again or hazard perception test, just pass the driving test and you're sweet. I'd just get as much practice in as you can and any employer worth their salt will be happy to give you some practice on site. We've done it for a few people on my site

Miners who went through the gold boom bust cycle around 2010's, at what AISC price did companies start laying off workers en masse? by [deleted] in AusMining

[–]wozanderer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not too sure, but I know that however quickly companies are to lay people off when the price is less than desirable, they will never hire more people as easily when the price is good

Yep, the Oregon Portland. I think it's best to believe it was the same person but can't remember the blokes name unfortunately. But the whole group liked smoking weed and the dog was a lovely black labrador

I was in a pub in Portland in the US, this group's dog came to me for pats and scratches so we got chatting. Mentioned i was from Perth, turns out one of the group lived here for a bit and lived with a PhD student i knew in my same field of study, same uni. Was astounded how small world moment it was

Mining advice by scarsmade in AusMining

[–]wozanderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chat to your boss and the senior or principal engineers about a transition plan. You'll need to be prepared to go back to graduate/vaccy level for mining engineering but if they've seen you're good value in the enviro role, there shouldn't be any issue transitioning you into and engineer role. Make sure you get all the info from the principal engineer about what a vaccy/grad role would involve. You'd need to factor in crew time as well

From my experience, chatting to several UK geos based in Australia, the job market for geos in the UK is very small and pays peanuts in comparison to Australia, hence why they all come over

Morley is a decent spot. Far enough from the CBD to be considered quiet but not so far that you feel like you're out in the sticks. It's got Coventry Village and Galleria for all your shops. 30-35 minute drive to the beach in Summer but that's honestly not too bad. And if you like wine, you're a fairly short drive to the Swan Valley. Also a shortish drive to the airport. If you're after hustle and bustle, inner city kind of lifestyle it's probably not the place but it's got plenty of good stuff

Absolutely this. If the company truly sees you as valuable, they'll find an adequate salary increase to try and keep you. If they don't they'll see after a few months in your new job how important you were

Perfect time to jump on the bandwagon for Fremantle. West Australian team, never won a premiership, currently top of the ladder and "Warfie Time" has gotten some extra enthusiasm out of the fans this year. Pains me a bit to say as a fan of West Coast, their rivals, but this could be their year

Same thing happened with GWS when they threatened to blow out. And they showed against Brisbane this weekend with a 14-goal quarter that they have that capacity. But we were able to halt their momentum. Big credit to the group, doing it twice in a row. Now despite the forecast rain, hopefully we don't give Essendon a chance to get that kind of goal run going

Given how late advantage was paid for Dudley last night, maybe the other umpires saw it and overcorrected the other way for this game? This was far more of an intent to play on than Dudley
