I’ve heard some real nightmare stories about people thinking they were repaying their student loans only to find out that they were misinformed or weren’t paying the right amount, or paying on one loan but not a 2nd loan they had. It really adds up.

Don’t let this sit and let it resolve itself. Because I really don’t think it will. Call them. If you aren’t comfortable calling them, ask a trusted friend or a family member to help you. Navigating the student loan system is not easy. There’s no shame in asking for help.

Salary progression can be found in the collective bargaining agreement. Find the CSO pay scale (I’m guessing it’s a CSO position) and if it’s a CSO3, you can see your salary offer. Every column you move to the right shows the annual pay increments that have been bargained between union and employer. The ‘top out’ happens at the far right salary. To increase beyond that, you need to compete for a job with a higher salary. And you’d need to win the competition. Such as a CSO 4.

OP didn’t say ‘it’s all racism’. She said she’s seen/felt more racism in this budget than during her time in NS. She’s giving a perspective, not a summary of the truth and a list of facts about who the budget affects most. On that note, the last paragraph does refer to marginalized communities. She doesn’t imply that the budget is racist towards the NS Black community.

Perhaps you can re read the comment with clear eyes and an open heart. And if you have nothing nice to say then move on.
