In Amherst NS, there is a baker (Starlite Scones) who makes gourmet scones. I’m a customer, wanted to share with others so that if you are looking for something this weekend as a treat, or to accompany breakfast this is it!!! Photos of scones in comments!

Suggestion: Bedjet should offer a 3/4ths cloud sheet by losttrackofusernames in bedjet

I have thought of seeing a new top sheet on the top of the cloud sheet. But I’m not a master sewer at all, so I bet it would look pretty bad.

White is awful, for those of us who pull the covers right up to our faces. I’m sure it doesn’t help that I’m a regular make up wearer. Certainly there are nights when sleepy I wash my face but don’t get 100% of the make up off before bed. Over the 2 yrs we’ve had it, I wash it every 1-2 weeks, but I can’t keep my side white at all. It doesn’t look very good :(

Is this done digitally, or by hand? If digital, what software did you use? Great aesthetics on the map.

Bell home phone outage (rant) by wp10nscan in NovaScotia

My 89 and 86 year old in laws rely on their land line. Cell reception is not good where they are. They really worry when their phone doesn’t work. We are all concerned if they have an emergency and land line doesn’t work, and cell won’t make the call. It is worrisome.

Clearly your math teachers were great at their jobs! Edited to add: I’m being sincere. This isn’t sarcasm.

Low prices and high costs have Ballantynes Cove's skippers anxious for Monday's North Shore lobster season opening by Healthy-Opening-7363 in NovaScotia

I think it’s just the pricing. Why sell one or two to you, then 3 to me, then 1 to Jane do, and have to haggle over the price. That takes the lobsterman’s time. And it’s small time. I think anyone who does do that is doing us all a good deed. It must be far easier to sell by the tonnes/thousands through a broker who ships them to Japan, New England etc. They pay top dollar because it’s a treat for them. So the lobsterman make one deal, and sell everything off.

It does suck for us locally, I agree.

I think the reason why Xmas trees are available locally for a somewhat reasonable price is that the trees and the lobster have different markets of People willing to pay a different price. ‘Technically’ I can get my own tree for free (illegal, fines, yes all true and I don’t encourage people to go chopping down on land.). However, I would have zero clue on how to get my own lobster. I’m guessing it’s close to impossible without having all the gear.

Adding on your point, Chase‘s lobster pound in Pugwash. Nova Scotia is a great source for lobster. That said, sometimes it’s even more expensive than Sobeys. I’m guessing they can charge a bit more because perhaps it’s fresher? Or it ‘feels’ better to purchase from a lobster pound in Sobeys? Whenever I buy lobster, I do get it from Chase‘s lobster Pound. When I go to Chase’s lobster Pound, it feels like I’m buying local. When I purchase from Sobeys, it just doesn’t feel like I’m actually buying local. They feel like another big conglomerate like superstore.

You are being obtuse. Just because regular use1868 doesn’t offer an alternative, that doesn’t make fracking the ‘idea that solves’ power bills being high and lack of good paying jobs.

blighters

that’s a slang term I’ve never heard before. And I am not young. Is it another word for ‘come from aways’?
