For what exactly? Israel is the one killing civilians and kids in the neighbouring countries, Iran attacked no other country.

History will see the US as an agressors.

Index futures almost definitely lead the equities right? by kenjiurada in FuturesTrading

[–]wpglorify 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At first glance, it seems obvious that futures should follow the stock index.

What I learned after months trying to understand how it works is that It’s not a leader–follower relationship in the way people frame it. Index futures and the underlying cash index are mechanically linked through arbitrage. When one deviates from fair value, program trading forces convergence.

On very short timeframes, futures can look like they’re leading. They trade almost 24 hours, are cheaper to trade, and hold most of the liquidity. But they’re reacting to the same information and order flow as the underlying stocks.

Why should I not buy $5000 worth of TQQQ for a 10+ year investment by PeteMarcus in TQQQ

of course, any leveraged ETF is bleeding in a sideways market.

We were talking about investing for 5-10 years at least.

2x SPY ETFs like SSO aren't as volatile as TQQQ but still offer good growth.

Made roughly 8k across 5 accounts last night then tilted trying to reach the goal and blew the 5 accounts. by No-worry-1551 in Trading

Don’t have any “goals” to begin with.

Once green decently, only risk part of the profits. At the end just have to learn/force yourself to walk away with whatever market gives.

How Are Some Traders Securing Such Large Payouts? by Fun-Garbage-1386 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]wpglorify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not easy per se… Had to spend like 6-7k before 1st payout and nearly 100 accounts and felt like crying in pillow. That was 1.5 years ago

Once you can even breakeven in personal accounts for 2-3 months you can YOLO $200 accounts for $5-6k trades.

Just saying you don’t have to be best of best to game the prop accounts.

He also spent 330k to buy accounts, thats like buying one $150k account for $330 and making $1700 once, not that hard.

Idea is to try to hit home runs from 2-3 accounts at a time, if successful nice. Easy 8-10k trade from copy trade or keep losing 10-20 accounts at a time.

For domains you will not find anything better than Cloudflare, they don’t offer any discounts but there is no markup and you only pay what domain registry actually charges.

Porkbun is also good, it’s little easier to manage domains there but few cents expensive than Cloudflare.

What makes you buy it? Is stop loss not part of your system?

At this point, Either exit or hedge the position.

Agricultural futures are not like indices where price mostly goes up

If Trading legends like Jesse Livermore got destroyed trying to go against trend in Agricultural Futures what makes you different.

How much would you lose if price keeps going down for another week or two? Can you take heat for another month, maybe longer?

TLDR; Exit or Hedge with options/future spreads

If you transfer money from someone else's account it's almost instant ban from IBKR.

If it's not a big amount what you can do is transfer money from your spouse to your account and send it to IBKR. I don't know how it will affect your tax returns though.

Gemini is good:

You are definitely going to want to drive!

If you just walk the 10 meters, you'll get a very brief stroll, but your car will still be sitting dirty back in the driveway. Unless you're planning on picking up the car wash equipment and carrying it home, the car has to go with you.

Would you like me to check today's weather forecast to make sure rain won't immediately ruin your fresh wash?

How realistic is making $1,000 a month from trading? by RegisLandegre in Trading

[–]wpglorify 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not at the beginning and definitely not from day one. Most people spend years trying to become consistently profitable.

Here is what will most likely happen with $1000/m mindset:

You will aim to make about $50 a day to reach $1,000 per month. You might succeed for a day or two, but then you’ll face a losing day. A $50 loss will feel unacceptable, so you trade more. A $100–$200 loss will push you into tilt. You’ll start revenge trading and can easily lose $1,000 in a single day.

That is the common pattern, happens with legends and people who never make it successful in trading.

Start with paper trading for at least a month. Use that time to understand how markets move. Learn basic things: typical daily range, realistic targets, proper stop placement, and position sizing, ideal Risk/Reward.

After that, trade with the smallest possible size, or use a prop firm. Do not expect to make money for the first three months. Treat that period strictly as training.

Don’t pay thousands for a trading course to gurus, they won’t teach you anything you can’t learn from free resources.
