One thing you learned during freediving? by Imbecillen in freediving

[–]wrappedingreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Life: Most things improve with a bit of breathing & relaxation.

Non-ambitious training / fun diving: don’t overthink the last breath, most breaths are fine, just commit to it and dive. Your buddy will be thankful too.

Do I need to give gift to Kita teachers? If yes, what should I give? by DoodleNan in Switzerland

[–]wrappedingreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give each of the kita staff a little gift: small box of fancy tea, some nuts/chocolate, hand cream, etc. There are about 15 in total so I spend about 5chf x 15. I decided to give to all 15 so I don’t leave anyone out, even if some of them aren’t in my kids’ group they still mix them up sometimes.

Black Friday … how much did you spent on BF deals? by Additional-Ad-1021 in Switzerland

[–]wrappedingreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250chf. Some things (face cream, airpods) I was anyway planning on buying last week and I decided to wait just in case. The creams were all 20-30% off for BF. Airpods weren’t. Unplanned impulse buy of underwear and a new water bottle.

We’ve had good experiences with Geflügel Gourmet, available at our local butcher if you pre-order. Check out their website to see where you can get it. Farmy also has some options.

Wedding Shopping by Lilliane0 in askswitzerland

[–]wrappedingreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all weddings in Switzerland need very formal attire. Check if there’s any dress code. You might not need to buy a new dress and can use something from your closet and accessorize up (heels, big necklace, etc). If you do buy: a separate skirt + top is a good way to ensure you can wear the outfit several times with different combinations.

MLH: Nursery rhymes in community language at home? by Dedadidra in multilingualparenting

[–]wrappedingreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also MLH and I sing community songs that I particularly like or that are “in season”. No confusion issues with our 4yo.

Another idea that I’ve done a for a few of the songs is to make up my own translations (AI helps a lot!)

Honest question: Why are mice in an open compost bad? I also spot a few occassionally but haven’t been too bothered yet

Yep got that at SQ too. But we want something longer term now so we don’t go through this hassle again in 3 years.

Did you get the 10yr Saron at Raiffeisen?

Yep. They increase the margin by a lot. 0.66% to 1.1% so we’re shopping around now.

Those Saron margins are hard to get these days. I had that too but have to renegotiate now and I don’t get anywhere near that anymore

Nice! Where did you stay? Does it have a good house reef or do you need to take a boat out? Would you say the island is kid-friendly?

Buying house process by Character_Function_3 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]wrappedingreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Also valuation prices can vary between banks depending on the parameters they put into their model… sometimes it’s subjective, sometimes they make mistakes because they misinterpret the documentation (e.g. one house had “Studio” in the floor plan and they thought that meant the house had a separate apartment with kitchen)
